I do it all the time. I suggest:

1) find two bars one of which with live music or karaoke (This way you have something to focus on and enjoy) but become a regular so stick to two places tops. 2) you should drink a bit maybe just coke if u don't want alcohol BUT eitherway. Tip well. $2 per beer/coke $3 per cocktail. 3) Make sure to talk to the bartender, so they get to know you. This way when u make an entrance they'll come up to you and shake your hand get you a coke right away. Can carry a convo when it's slow. 4) stay in high traffic areas near the door or at the bar. By the band. Get to see who's coming in and make a first impression. 5) try to be cool with bouncers and doorman but don't get in their way or be annoying.
6) don't stand in the same spot, every 30 mins move or transfer to the second bar if the first is slow.
7) be prepared for the "where are your friends?" "Or what's your deal, what are u doing here alone?" I'll either say " I'm new to town" or "here for the band, my friends have no taste" or I'm rolling solo tonight it feels liberating...but quickly move away from that convo.
8) focus on making acquaintances with people when u can, especially another guy who is rolling solo...if see someone more than 2 or 3 times there buy them a beer or shot...drink it with them and say catch u later, then move...you may need a wingman later in the night, this person could help return the favor.

Imo you are overthinking and not doing. Too much time worrying about correct facial expression, counting eye contact signs etc leaves you rigid and unable to adapt. It's likely you'll look quite awkward unless you are being very subtle, and even then you're spending so much time worrying and not being present.

The game i've always worked relies on being natural and adapting tools of basic sexual strategy on top.

IMO the only way to improve in any social interaction is to go through it. It's like fighting or dancing, you can read all the material and watch all the youtube videos you like - but only when you're sparring and working in the gym will you actually improve.

As for going out alone, the main thing to remember is no one really cares so long as you look like youre being natural. If I go out on my own I make sure to sit at the bar and talk to everyone. Nothing complex just acknowledgment and take it from there.

If you smile, are open and look like you can bring value to a group you'll be more likely to get in with groups. If you stand like a stoic aloof 'alpha' it all becomes much harder to work.

Another thing I tend to do is internalize that I am there for me, to enjoy the night life, have a dance and laugh with people. I am not there to desperately scan the room looking for girls I can run game on. Being direct can and will get you results, but I find it comes at the cost of you know - actual fun.

Like say you're invited into a group with a mix of guys and girls, I just concentrate on having a good time now. And you'll be amazed at what that does for your mentality and confidence.

Also if you're going to clubs be prepared to navigate the 'alpha' guys who make it clear they're here to dominate. You'll encounter plenty of these and if you're a lone wolf it can get tricky. My own method is to simply become 'empty'. I'm a long practicing Buddhist (10 years) and so it's easier to just see through it all and not get involved in an ego clash. If they front you, I just use amused mastery. If they take a disliking to it, I'll either walk away or when I was younger i'd ask why they are so angry.

Overall it's just about actually doing it. Kinda like the gym, you get all nervous about the first time, but once you've done it it's piss.

I don't drink either, but it's never stopped me having a good time. I will however admit that day game is far far easier and you can actually escalate in more ways, like immediate coffee dates, a ride to the beach/arcades.

Just get out there and see what sticks.

Social status is very important to women. You don't always need to meet women around friends, but she will soon notice if you don't have any friends and wonder why once you start dating. It will be extremely hard to keep a high quality woman around if you have no friends because you essentially have no social status. The biggest factor in your long term success with women is your long term success with male friends.

I found a bar by my house that is pretty cheap and has some cool regulars and good people. I go by myself and just hang out with the regulars (guys and girls) cause I'm meeting new people.

In fact just cause I go to this bar I may have found an internship with my field of study thanks to meeting a guy there that works for NBC.

You'll be amazed how friendly people are at the bar honestly

The "nightlife" generally means bars, clubs and alcohol.

Since you are in college have you tried the girls there?

Or is it so "Politically Correct" on campus now you can't do anything without the SJW types getting on your case.

Alcohol and nightlife are expensive and you really can't afford it.

I remember in college that the girls were pretty easy (1980's for this old guy) and would not require much of anything.

If you live in the dorms it's an absolute fuckfest.

There's good advice in the other comments, most guys are on the point: It's not about the attack plan, it's about the experience.

Go out, do it, you'll learn. Someone mentioned finding two spots and becoming a regular, that's solid advice to begin there. Once you're comfortable, you can expand to new places and roll from that, but it will give you a support platform meanwhile to meet and greet. If you don't drink, maybe night group activities? like cooking class. There are a bunch of those and community colleges offer them for nothing and there will be many cute girls there. Or a salsa class. You mention you don't dance - get over that. You don't need a class, but take one if needed.... Honestly I have stopped the verbal struggle at the bar: I think you fasttrack everything with a dancefloor, none of that "trying to figure things out." But to each his own. Go out, become regular, other regulars will introduce you to their friends, or not, just have fun.

Side note: you will look creepy at a bar without a drink. Or static. Move around, and if nothing has sparked in 40minutes, move to the next one. Keep at it.

The only place I can suggest going when riding solo is the club. If you know how to light up a dance floor (whether or not you can actually dance) the fact that you're alone will never even come up as you will have already shown social proof (all eyes on you and everyone's having fun). I can give clubs tips, but first thing I'll tell you is "Learn to Dance".

Clubs, however, will never work for you if you're not, at least, top 20%. You can have fun and all, but females will never let you grind on them.

If you have no social proof, become very, very good at using your imagination. Walk into the venue and harness the energy of the most charismatic person you can think of. Talk to people, talk to anybody, the momentum will keep you going. Once people perceive you as a high value and charismatic person you will begin to perceive yourself that way, it just gets easier from there.

I have a really hard time going out by myself but when I have to, I use my own head as social proof until I create it. And don't worry about being autistic, you're definitely overthinking it. If you were actually autistic it would have developed and been identified much earlier in life.

I just went out tonight by myself because none of my school friends are into going out.

I wish I was in a frat so I could have a crew to go with.

Anyways, I browsed the bars near my street, but in the end, it's all luck if you meet someone and going into these bars and seeing all the groups of guys and girls mingling just makes me not want to engage with it at all. I came home after grabbing a bite to eat and am gonna play some video games now. I don't think it's worth it at all to go out alone, it's boring as fuck and a waste of time. Only for like a brisk walk was it worth it.

I just like going to a good sports bar and watching a game or to a club or bar and watch a good band play .either is fun for me. I like to just sat around and b******* with whoever is within hearing distance and having fun and focusing on that. if any women comes along great if not I'm having fun anyway so who cares

Avoid the night life. Meet girls on the subway, at the grocery store etc... You'll meet nicer girls and there is so much less pressure on you and them.

I have gone out alone countless times in multiple countries, even sometimes when I didn't speak the language. The first thing to do is this.

Accept it is a disadvantage, and decide not to worry about it.

Not having social proof going in is a big red flag. Always acknowledge this and try to work groups and ambient people into social proof.

Befriend everyone. Be loud and pull people in, talk to everyone and slowly start to assemble a loose group. Have fun, make fun of other people, and be aggressive about making sure everyone around you is having fun. You have to be the party.

Women are leeches. That is it, that is all they are. They NEVER are the source of the party, they never are the source of the value and vibes and energy. This is why they are drawn like moths to a flame to the areas of concentrated fun. When some cool dudes are doing coke in the VIP, they will all go to leech. When a local low key celeb, like some B list rapper, has a table and bottle service... they go.

You cannot rival that and you don't have to. But you have to understand the principle and make it work for you. Be the noisy spot, be where people are DENSE. Density is so important, have you ever noticed how hot girls are always in these sweaty throngs of other hot girls and hot guys? Density, concentrated value, that is what they look for. They are like little programs executing, finding the shortest optimized path to local value hotspots, and then try to maintain their real estate by blotting out low value guys to keep their area "cool". Value dilution is real and it's why single loser guys going out alone get blocked - they come in with no hot friends or hot girls, they just want to dilute the value a little bit in their immediate surroundings.

You have to build a value hotspot. That is literally everything and the end-all of going out solo - beyond that, you just need to know how to escalate, kino, and close and deal with logistics. Which can be challenging, but you will figure that out if you go out enough and actually get women near you. This is why the value hotspot idea is everything; if you don't do it, you'll never learn how to really deal with women turning up at night because they will always be over there, in their cool circle.
