I don't get the value of this post. What are you trying to tell us?
The RP mantra on lifting is just fucking do whatever the fuck works for you. If you don't like 5x5 then do something else, it's just a recommendation not a 'you're not RP if you don't lift like us bro'.
Very rarely do you meet a built buff guy with a truly cool personality
Huh?
[–]TrumpRules2016 8 points9 points10 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
This post is so freaking stupid. Not yours, but OP's post. I have met some pretty cool dudes who are pretty buff. Lifting weights is good for you and anybody who says otherwise is some mangina.

The obvious, it's overemphasized. A lot of dudes start lifting heavy then act pissed off all the time.
[–]DoubleTappp22 points23 points24 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Lol. Shut the fuck up. Go lift.

Time for some Dorian Yates style posedowns.

Your hamster is rolling pretty hard on this.
Body type isn't appealing? What the fuck that means? Lifting weights will make you look better. There is no question about it. Even if you don't have the best genetics in the world, you'll still have more muscle, which means more calories burned, which means you'll be leaner and more "toned". What tension does lifting heavy actually creates? The problem is when people "forget" about some muscle groups ( for example you only train chest because you can see it in the mirror, but you don't train back so often ). Of course this will fuck up your body posture.
Most of guys you're talking about are "pissed of" probably because they are on steroids and unnatural amounts of testosterone. Hopefully I don't need to explain any further.
"Ottermode" still requires you too lift heavy if you're natural. That's just reality. Building muscle is very hard for majority of people, it's even harder to maintain it while you're getting leaner.
Why they are doing better off with P90X? Are you selling this shit? No they're not. Just ask yourself what are people who have the best looking bodies doing, including hollywood celebrities? P90X? I doubt it. Lifting weights is the best way to look better. PERIOD.
You just came here to post your rationalization why you don't want to go to the gym.

They lift purely for proportions/aesthetics. Not to mention they have the world's best personal trainers.
RP thinking dictates that lifting is good no matter what & is way too focused on heavy lifting above everything else.
[–]PaulAJK9 points10 points11 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Fucking LOL at this shit. I'm off to the gym.
[–]Pewdielockz2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
the current wave of RP weightlifting
I guess with current you mean since forever?
Doing GOOD things for your body helps in every situation. How you do that is yours to find out. But posts like "Hurr durr people with muscles are idiots" doesn't help anyone.
[–]TrumpRules2016 2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I lift heavy for low reps (1-5) for most of my work sets when doing compound exercises and some other ones and I have a nicely proportional body. I have gotten many compliments on my body from ladies. I don't know what you are talking about. This post is terrible.

Damn,i am sorry for the mods that have to endure these kinds of posts.
For any new-comers:Don't pay attention to this post.Lift.

Have a conclusion. You proposed your point but you did not end it with a solution or anything else. Lifting is good bro.
[–]Sensei_Hensei0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I think bodyweight training will get most around here the bodies that they are looking for. A combination of both. Squats and deads combined with startbodyweight would give you a muscular frame and low body fat percentage.

While saying that buff guys lack personality is obvious bullshit and while it differs for everyone, I do agree that lifting heavy as fuck is not always the smartest thing to do for everyone. Purely for the fact that a lot of people lack the knowledge/technique to lift heavy in a proper manner without fucking their body up. Another point I think is valid, is that it is very easy to get obsessed with lifting and maximizing gains, while I definately think lifting is very benificial for the body as well at the mind, it has to be done in a proper way and in moderation, like everything else.

Nah you're just a lazy bitch who doesn't want to put in the work and you're trying to use us as an echo chamber to justify your lack of discipline.
[–]matrixpush[S] 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
lol. why do you RP guys swear so much. Lack of charisma?

Leaving the sub soon, there's some good material here on occasion, but it's nothing more than RooshVForum 2.0 at this point.

I can assure you that you won't be missed.
Gtfo with your shitty advice about lifting and your incorrect assumptions about everyone at the gym being "a big meanie".

It's funny that humans are the only species that insists on punishing and destroying their body in the hopes that making it weaker will eventually make it stronger...and yet we are the most intelligent species...is it any wonder that you can find stories of some young body builder getting beat in both wrestling and arm wrestling by his dad who spends his time gardening...
Having "six pack abs" makes you look like a malnourished and deformed human. The true masculine ideal throughout history has been a round face and a pot belly. Your body needs fat and getting yourself down to 8% bodyfat Is doing nothing but damage.

kind of agree lol you body builders hit every muslce but the most important for sex which is the pelvic floor.. lmfao i see you guys with atp etc
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=IOfuZK-HHo0
that angry jealous old dude is how i see some of you
Glad someone gets it. Lol @ pelvic tilt. Most dudes who lift too much walk like penguins with a slight sideways waddle.
