i've been reading news reports like this about how a male birth control pill is in the last stages of testing and will be on the market soon for my entire life
[–]quartersndimes26 points27 points28 points 9 years ago (31 children) | Copy Link
it is, vasectomy solves all the problems.
[–]LostTie7420 points21 points22 points 9 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link
I'd love to get one. No doctor in my area will perform one without the wife's written consent. How crazy is that?
[–]quartersndimes13 points14 points15 points 9 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
where do you live? that's gotta be illegal, they don't ask us to consent for abortions.
[–]LostTie746 points7 points8 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
US Southeast. Illegal or not, I've had three tell me they need wife's written consent or they won't perform. Forget about getting them to do anyone younger than 30 or so.
[–]quartersndimes5 points6 points7 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I had mine here in Florida, they never even asked if I was married.
[–]Breidurhundur15 points16 points17 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
And then they laugh at us when we say we're living in a matriarchy (or, more precisely, cuntocracy, since women don't rule, they're just pedestalized as something otherworldly).
[–]ministypill2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
No doctor in my area will perform one without the wife's written consent.
It is not legally required from your wife's consent, it is the doctor's term. How funny when "My body, My choice" applies differently between man and woman.
If you are really into vasectomy, find a doctor who will do it with no bullshit.
[–]yomo861 point2 points3 points 9 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link
I advise it always. Lie. Just lie through your teeth. No dear Mr. Doctor I am not married and I don't want kids and by the way in my family are some midgets. If they don't buy it get another doctor.
From a legal standpoint the doctor owes you a procedure in accordance with medical standards what his intentions are, are not part of the deal.
[–]MrJanglesLovesBooty113 points14 points15 points 9 years ago* (21 children) | Copy Link
You're right, but some guys really don't like the idea of having our nuts chopped into.
Of course feminazis and the state will continue to throw temper tantrums over male birth control pills, but stuff like this can still give us hope.
[–]TRP_Lee_zard14 points15 points16 points 9 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link
20 minutes, fully aware and joking with the doctor performing the vasectomy.
BEST INVESTMENT EVER - no need to remember about a pill, no worry that a condom might break or leak.
It is funny that guys will happily put their balls into womans vile hands, but won't allow a certified medical professional to save their fucking lives.
[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 9 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
How much did it cost and what was the recovery like? I'm 25 years old and I know I don't want kids. I just want to make sure I do it right and there aren't any bad side effects.
[–]TRP_Lee_zard9 points10 points11 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Cannot really say about the price (only because I'm from eastern Europe - but here it was around 500-600$ - 2000Pln in Poland). Recovery was one week, where you shouldn't jerk off, have sex etc.
the only side effect is a peace of mind no one can even imagine...
[–]PM_UR_CHAI0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Free in Canada (obviously) and no questions.
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
How's sex after the vasectomy?
[–]TRP_Lee_zard0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Sorry for late reply - its awesome, physiologicaly no difference, but psychology, when all you have to worry is STD but you KNOW you wi not have a kid by accident
[–]Breidurhundur-1 points0 points1 point 9 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
You do realize though that if men struggled to repeal alimony laws then you wouldn't have had to mutilate your testicles to avoid someone ruining your life by getting knocked up?
[–][deleted] 5 points6 points7 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
True, so... what have you been doing to change the laws in your locality? Please be specific. And telling others to do it doesn't count.
[–]Breidurhundur-1 points0 points1 point 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I've been a smug asshole on the Internet. Have you? Oh wait, I see you have.
[–]MrAcceleration12 points13 points14 points 9 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link
This is why they still use sixteenth century balloons.
Zero pleasure for men.
Easily tampered with by women.
Meanwhile women get birth control, morning after pills, abortions, reverse condoms, etc...
Oh and child support, attention, I'm not trying to shill mgtow I'm just bringing the point home and women should be stuck sticking turkey bastors of alcohol up their cunt if we're expected to be living in the medieval ages
[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 9 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link
Yikes, that's pretty angry. Women's one egg is much easier to foil than men's 100,000,000 sperm. It ain't a conspeeeeracy.
[–]Docbear646 points7 points8 points 9 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
It's not so much an issue with ease as investing . How is it possible that society y that tells men in so many ways we need to be more responsible and wise with sex and how we approach women has so few options for us ? There is clearly a desire for male birth control , not just among common men but celebrities , hell anyone with a dick who wants to fuck freely and somehow a solution to that hasn't been intensely researched and rigorously tested for decades?
It's been almost 60 years since the first female oral contraceptive was released to the public and FDA certified and in that time a safe male equivalent doesn't exist? that just seems odd especially because as I said the number of men who would purchase it would be significant .
[+][deleted] -6 points-5 points-4 points 9 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Most guys wouldn't purchase it because they expect the women to use birth control. Most guys aren't out there seducing tons of chicks -- most guys find one girl who will put out and marry her.
The number of men who would purchase and use a MBCP is actually rather small. Look at the surveys conducted.
Wow. What a stupid response. You really think men would go out and buy a bunch of condoms that might break, but wouldn't buy a birth control pill?
I don't really get laid much, but would buy a male birth control pill in a heartbeat.
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I'd use it too. Clearly you haven't looked at the surveys showing most men would not use it.
[–]yomo861 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Well, there are many options in the queue which simply do not happen for whatever reason. Blocking the vas deference, taking hormones, taking a sperm production blocker pill etc. I would not say it is a conspiracy but considering how much money is floating around for illegitimate children and the fact that the birthrates in Europe, the US and most of the developed parts of Asia would completely deteriorate. It's understandable.
Look up the hot water method of male birth control. Been around for only a couple of thousand years.
[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
All the feminists I've talked with are totally for the male birth control pill. Although they assume the men will take the pill so they don't have to.
[–]2popthatpill0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
All the feminists I've talked with are totally for the male birth control pill.
Of course women say that. What were you expecting them to say?
[–]DefinitelyNotSamHyde points points points 9 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link
Right but some men eventually want kids and a vasectomy can cause issues in that department. Certainly you can freeze your sperm but that's extremely expensive, like tens of thousands of dollars for in vitro fertilization.
[–]yomo862 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Nope it isn't. I paid $ 300 for freezing and taking the sample. And roughly $ 30 (tax deductable) for the storing of the sample per month. I think if you don't have the 7 grand to do in vitro you should not have kids. And after I am 50 I know I never will have kids so I basically pay $ 30 a month for the next 20 years to be the only person in charge about my reproductive rights is not really a big issue. Smoking or having a weekly bar night is way more expensive.
[–]yomo862 points3 points4 points 9 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link
True. Since I was 18 they kept telling you that story. Which in and of itself might not even be wrong. But suddenly just before FDA or European approval they fail for whatever bullshit reason.
If you are adamant about not having kids get a vasectomy.
[–]2popthatpill24 points25 points26 points 9 years ago (13 children) | Copy Link
within the next two years
That's plenty of time for female interference to dispatch it to the same graveyard that women have all potential male contraceptives dispatched to.
[–]Sir_Capt_Obvious_III points points points 9 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link
I would normally agree with you but Indonesia has some serious over population problems. Its probably the only reason this pill will ever make it to the market.
http://www.aljazeera.com/blogs/asia/2015/03/indonesia-facing-overpopulation-crisis-150319200635063.html
[–]CrashXXL19 points20 points21 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
FDA won't approve it stateside. If they legalized prostitution and male birth control, the population would be cut in half. That's less tax payers and less ways to trap us strong men into submission.
[–]RetiredTimeHo10 points11 points12 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I'll be shipping that shit in illegally as soon as it's available.
If you can buy Viagra, prescription pills, and steroids online, I'm damn sure this will be available too.
[–]2popthatpill9 points10 points11 points 9 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link
If a male contraceptive is going to happen anywhere, it's going to happen in the third world or developing countries, Indonesia being a good example.
It's not going to happen in the first world, women have too much strategic acumen to allow a male contraceptive to happen and more than enough political power to keep it from ever happening.
[–]treebreath-2 points-1 points0 points 9 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link
Bullshit. Women have been asking for male birth control options besides condoms since the 70's.
[–]2popthatpill5 points6 points7 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Here's a rule of thumb: If your theory requires a conspiracy, it's wrong.
[–]Docbear644 points5 points6 points 9 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
I wonder if people said the same thing about Watergate when it was first being reported?
[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Watergate proves that even small conspiracies collapse very quickly. There is no worldwide feminist plot against MBCPs.
[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Yeah Feminists aren't smart enough to plot lmao
All they know how to do is chuck tantrums and make themselves look like Morons.
[–]LedZeppelin16020 points1 point2 points 9 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link
Feminism wants women to retain sole control over procreation. They can trick men Ito getting them pregnant then the state will force them to pay. Even if conception was through her statutory raping him he still has to pay, even if he used condoms and she fetched it out of the trash and put it inside her he still has to pay. And when it comes to reproductive rights women decide if the child is born or terminated with the man having no say either ways. So they control procreation 100%.
Atm if a woman wants a child she can get one no matter the means and if she doesn't she can avoid it If these new male contraceptive measure came about men could stop women getting pregnant whenever they wanted so of course liberal government and feminism will rally against them.
[–]keepstay15 points16 points17 points 9 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link
i already see how in my country (Russia) such thing will be instant-banned. Vasectomy is prohibited until you turn in 35 years old, lol, no way they let us use pills.

The tradcon trap strikes men again.
[–]BullshittingNonsense4 points5 points6 points 9 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
That's because you guys have big population growth problems. Very smart of the government to do this. I don't think they should ban the shit. Maybe some incentives for people to have kids and not have propaganda that shits on families and kids.

[–]Bareassman7 points8 points9 points 9 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

the best male birth control is MENT (trestolone) an anabolic steroid. Very fucking powerful, take 50mg ed of ment acetate. Cant get sluts pregnant and u feel like a fucking lion that fucked a gram of coke and trance music.

If there was an equivalent for the female pill, I'd definitely consider it.
The thing is that every new technology has a price, which may not be seen in the short terms. Let's thing about mobile phones: we found out that radiations can be dangerous for men. Same goes for printers, they should stay in a separate room.

Just a bunch of self-hating, evolutionary dead-end men circle jerking in the comments here. Western society has fucked up men so much.
[–]Venny_11 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link
evolutionary dead-end men
The only evolutionary dead-end men are the ones who have done a vasectomy without freezing sperm. Outside of that realm, a male pill wouldn't mean evolutionary suicide, but taking control of one's own reproduction and strategically deciding, on one's own accord, when to have children.
[–]terereaholic1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
But for how long is cum good for when it's frozen? What if the Doc selects a sperm with Down syndrome? I mean that child of yours is the real evolutionary dead-end.
[–]Venny_10 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
It can last for a little over 10 years. Some research suggests even 15 years, though I wouldn't count much on it. The DNA quality doesn't deteriorate within that time period, so the risk of Down Syndrome doesn't increase from that. On the other hand, the motiliy of the sperm tail does: nearly 40% of the spermatozooa then suffer from some form of motility dysfunction after being "awoken" from their cold slumber, which is why doctors advise to store a multitude of sperm-viles before receiving a vasectomy, especially, and obviously, when considering more than 1 child in the future.
As for the "choosing" of the sperm: the doctor chooses a vile of sperm for IVF, not a singular sperm cell. The spermatozooa then, in their mighty numbers, start racing towards the egg cell.
[–]terereaholic0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
You're very well read, thanks for the answer. I naturally have a little doubts on that whole freezing sperm procedure, but I always tell myself I should trust these man that spend many years in school learning about these things. I feel I'm insulting them in a way with my doubts. Thanks again.
[–]Venny_10 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Let's just put it this way: the freezing of chicken wings and sperm is done very differently, and serve completely different purposes (I hope!).
[–]terereaholic0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Hey don't you insult me, I'm not that stupid, what have I don't to you to treat me disrespectfully?
[–]Venny_10 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
You're kidding me right? Please be kidding!
Nowhere in my answer was it meant to be an insult, even the last bit was said in jest. The problem with writing on the internet is that you see the written word only. You are not receiving mimickry or gesticulation with the words, so the intent might be abit construed.
I didn't insult, nor was it my intention; but if I did, which I'm not, then I advise you to a) grow a thicker skin, and b) don't care much about what some random guy on the internet says about you.
[–]79rustyk100 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
however, a vasectomy does give those of us who truly do not want children a way to opt out of that. Thankfully we still have the option to make that decision.
