I was thinking about how the Taliban are not really masculine. They are not big, they don't go to gyms, are not shredded. But, they always, always have a gun with them. Even stupid unpractical guns like loaded missile launchers. They carry them all the time.

And it hit me, we need to be big and scary and masculine because civilization prohibits us from carry guns (in most countries). But in Afghanistan you don't need to be a huge muscled guy to be dangerous, you only need to be a small guy with an AK47, nobody will fuck with you, ever.

So, in a way, society caused an involution, we men need to become cavemen again, huge, hairy and scary, so women like us. Not the taliban, they don't need to get stupid (and frankly, useless) muscles. They just carry an AK47. They successfully use technology to improve their masculinity, and we are prohibited to do so. So we are back to the stone age. Meanwhile, tiny guys that weight 100 lbs are slaying in Brazil and Afghanistan, they are the top alpha male, because they carry a big ass gun.
