I've been around on /r/relationships. Anytime something explodes, it's removed by the mods. They will replace the post with "[removed]". The OP doesn't see that it's removed, just everyone else.

I read the OP of the link before checking comments here and noticed this as well. That was the first thing I was going to post about. Glad I'm not the only one who caught this. Holy shit. Her boss would have to be making millions of dollars for $5k purchase to be a drop in the hat for him, and even then he probably still wouldn't buy it for her unless he was fucking her.

It looks to me as though his dislike and envy of her boss is making him go way more insane than the situation necessarily calls for.

I mean if the end result here is that there is nothing going on between her and her boss, and he just buys her really nice stuff from time to time because she's a fantastic employee and he'd rather do something nice than pay her a yearly bonus.. do you ever see OP accepting that explanation? Because I don't, and I wouldn't be surprised if his wife realises that too.
