I too have not even owned a TV for about 10 years now. The changes have been staggering, especially after taking trp. Everything is so sensationalized, and it's noticeable in the people I meet. Many don't seem to have any sense of calm, wonder, appreciation for the universe or life in general. Most are just looking for entertainment, and simply change the channel on a whim.

Conversely, I've been watching old westerns and holy shit...so rp it's hilarious. It's like all rp ideology used to be accepted fact and now it's called "angry sociopathic misogynistic women hating rape culture"

Society's adoption of The Feminine Imperative has made almost all media sources expositors of their tripe. Commercials, sitcoms, many dramas are so steeped in blue pill examples as to bugger belief.

Why is every dude in a commercial an idiot?

I remember this change being very sudden and striking at some point about 10-15 years ago. All of a sudden, every guy in a commercial was a bumbling idiot, especially if it was a couple going to buy electronics, appliances, a car, etc. The "joke" was so forced that watching those commercials was cringe-inducing.

Feminism has had an effect on pretty much most of the mass media. Most things are geared towards serving the feminist agenda, which is why you've seen a decline in media that supports men or masculinity in general. Why do you think most boys grow up with the mindset of putting women on a pedestal? It's because the media told them to.

I like to snark on the TV. I assume those around me enjoy it, as it usually gets laughs rather than "STFU"s.

That being said... anything worth watching is better watched online. You can alt-tab during the ads :D

Also, Archer is a hilariously awesome show that nobody's mentioned yet. Highly recommend.

Classic example is the Jack-in-the-Box commercial with Jack, the owner of a multi million dollar franchise get owned by his post wall "wife" for beating her at Scrabble, with her spelling out NO NOOKIE because he didn't let her win.

Women have become a bigger part of the market so they're forced to advertise to things that appeal to them. That would be fine if not for one thing:

What seems to appeal to them is degrading men and depicting them as weak and stupid.

As a black guy I get pissed every time I see this Cox Cable commercial where this bumbling white beta gets punked by his cool, black neighbor. The Anti-White Man Bias is insane.

Jeez, think how weird it is for me. I grew up in the 70's and 80's and was out of the country for a decade, then came back to find that men are now expected to shave off all their body hair to please women. When the fuck did THAT happen? Keepin' my Thomas Magnum stache till I die.

TV shows commonly feature little 90lb girls in leather pants beating up full-grown men. Or going into gun battle and out-shooting male thugs.

Women are portrayed as strong, independent, successful, professional, and in charge.

Men are portrayed as beta/omega, dorky, nerdy, goofy, groveling idiots who take orders from their female masters.

A few men are portrayed as an "alpha" badboys, but it really just means having a pretty face and wearing a leather jacket. Oh, and simulatenously being a badass to everyone else yet sensitive and emotional towards the "strong" woman. In other words, he still wears the skirt.

I don't know about everywhere else, but recently in my state, a college football team was dressed up in pink ribbons/jerseys. Officially it was for the fraudulent breast cancer cure movement, but really, I suspect it was just to make tough muscular men wear pink leashes. Symbols are powerful.

It's not only commercials or broadcast TV. Take stroll down the Terminator movies for a crash course in how things got softened up. By Terminator 3 we were well in the "comedy" territory instead of action territory.

I think in a lot of ways Computer games / FPS took over, though even there things are... well, getting weird. I wonder how much damage Sarkesian et. al. will cause in that genre.
