Because men and women are different. Remember when you were a little kid and you realized that girls had yoo-hows and boys had pee-pees? Yeah, this some of that same type of stuff.

Women like men that other women like or liked in the past. Men prefer to have women to themselves. If a man has a child it means he was able to find women to have sex with him and have his kids in the past. That can make him more attractive to women. But when a woman has a baby she just has baggage in men's eyes, and she's less attractive. Just like how a man having sex with lots of women makes him more attractive to other women, while a woman having sex with lots of men makes her less attractive to men (at least for serious relationships).

what do you mean by "unfairly penalized"? nobody is obligated to be attracted to anyone. attraction is not a choice. i can't force myself to not be repulsed by the presence of a woman's bastard child.

My woman was initially attracted to me because:

My looks.
I had kids most of the time and was a loving father. I could also maintain a household by myself.

What most single gals do NOT like is the idea of a crazy ex-wife lurking in the shadows. That is a giant turnoff to them. They will obsess on the ex. Check out her FB page... check out her friends.. ask about her constantly.

As a single dad, it's generally a net positive. Are there women who will have an issue with it? Yes. Are they outnumbered big-time by the women that find it endearing? Definitely. If anything else, it gives me a bit of leeway to operate. You'll be amazed at how easily a child can be used to enforce boundaries on your end. :)

"Unfair?"

Is it "unfair" that short men are penalized? Height has almost zero practical effect, and yet women care massively about it.

Single mommery has a MASSIVE effect on what it's like to date the woman. It's a far more "logical" thing to care about than facial symmetry, etc.

Also, motherhood is a choice, unlike height.

We have ot pick our mates based on something. Preexisting parenthood is one of hte most logical things I can think of.

Oh, and it matters to us men on a deep, instrictive, visceral level too.

Women are enormously attracted to yung-uns because they imagine "it" is there baby. Then the cute baby becomes a child and a young adult while the "doting" stepmom shits out her own puppies- and promptly decides that these other puppies are taking from their "own" litter.

Fathers be warned so that pretty woman doesn't become your child's worst nightmare.
