You don't have to change your current interests. I believe you should just expand your interests and push yourself out of your comfort zone. Keep an open-mind and try everything. You will surprised when you get out of your comfort zone and may actually like these new activities such as traveling, hiking, etc...

It's about getting out of your comfort zone and shaping your choices to maximize your outcome.

If you play video games as your only hobby, where does that leave you in five years? Does it add or detract from your current life goals? Would your time be better spent elsewhere? Are you playing video games as an escape from reality? Are you using them as a crutch to cope with difficult situations?

These are the questions you should be asking yourself.

I find it unlikely that one can honestly say that playing video games for a large # of hours a week will add value to their life. The frequently recommended hobbies here will.

From another angle, it is about being a producer versus consumer. For 99% of people, video games are consuming. They are an escape. They are for relaxation; necessarily distinct from self-improvement.

Production hobbies are the opposite. Through activities like creating music, building items, improving your mind or body, you are producing. Producers are able to provide. Others look for partners who can best provide.

I've seen dudes totally change their sets of interests at your age. Some stick, some go back to their old ways. Some even made asses of themselves. It's not a big deal. You will never regret trying to play a new persona that exemplifies the qualities you admire.

In the end no one gives a fuck what you do. You don't have to quit video games or jacking off seven times a day, but if you truly fear being a bitch in a society that's more feminized than ever, you will.

How you chose to spend your leisure time can still impact other areas of your life.

Trouble with video games is they satisfy you by providing false achievements. That can inhibit motivation to achieve in the real world.
