Your dads and uncles would have distrusted facials. I have been to the mountain, and I have had a facial - and I see at last what I have been missing for years.....And when I look in the mirror… it has worked. After 75 minutes of intensive care my skin has lost that dry, papery look that I had resigned myself to. I don't look so tired. I don't look so old. I am glowing like the first light of a summer dawn. My face looks less like the Dead Sea Scrolls and more like a newly minted first edition.

I get a spa facial once a month, and it keeps my skin clear and bright. Facials have always been a girl's thing, but men's facials are growing in popularity. My roommate has terrible acne- he came home depressed that a girl in his study group had his number saved in her phone with pizza emoji and face emoji - "pizza face". I got him a men's facial for his birthday and he went for it and it has changed his life. His zits are almost gone, as are the bags under his eyes and his smile lines. He looks clean and awake and well-rested, and he goes back every couple months.

Cleaning out the pores on your face professionally is not emasculating or feminine- it's good hygiene. For any guys out there with skin problems, it's worth a look.
