Resolving the "anger phase" - help for newer members

I think the stages of swallowing the pill are supposed to be hard to get over. A lot of people want to just skip over them or shorten them any way they can. Most simply end up suppressing them and never really learn how to control their emotions. Learn at your own pace and learn how to accept each stage as it comes.

The acceptance stage is nice with all the clarity it brings, but it's lonely. It's yet another parallel to the Matrix where the guys are unplugged, but they end up in a grimy, dingy shithole with rags on their backs. It's freedom but it isn't much.

It does take time to get used to, but things will never be as they were before. The anger phase is just the start, so you best work on it as hard as you can.

Always stop, even if just for a split second, ask yourself:

"Does my being angry actually accomplish anything? Or is it just letting the source of my anger (be it external or internal) provoke me into even stupider behavior?"

Or you can wallow in it and let others lead you by the nose since they now know where one of your buttons are.

The thoughts are good here man, but you really need to reduce the wordiness of this thing. There's a lot of pointless phrases that make it longer but don't make it clearer.

Example: "I will set out two potential explanations of the faulty cognitions, based upon what I think is most likely." Just do it. Don't say you're going to do it. That's how colleges teach you to write, but it is boring as shit. Good mental test: does this sound like a newspaper? They are the masters of conveying information in an interesting and concise manner.

There's a large amount of negativity here focusing on whether or not you 'should' have posted this, and not on whether or not it is useful to new members (which it probably is). As for anger being useful? Sometimes maybe, but so is a crutch until the leg heals again: There's a better alternative. Not to mention that anger is a deeply unpleasant feeling most people would like to avoid if possible.

It's a shame too, I think this is possibly sidebar worthy myself.

You sound like you are recruiting for a cult. All you seem to care about is instilling your dogma. Anger is a good thing it encourages a call to action. If you try and sterilely intellectualize everything you are going to get ran over by feminist hate mobs. You are encouraging beta behaviour by discouraging anger. Anger is a tool to be used not something to be feared.

One of the problems is that there are guys on here whose knee-jerk reaction is to just say "get over it". They either forgot how it felt to be unplugged, or think they are trying to help. I view it like this, if you have recently lost a loved one, you are feeling a very strong emotion of grief. The last possible fucking thing you want to hear, and really the worst piece of advice, is some moron going, "oh, just get over it". The levels of anger that people feel, and the duration vary I think. The more of a blue pill, or white knight, or even a man's age I think can even affect this. I think it's perfectly normal to be mad, and mad as hell about this. It's great fuel for working out. And yes this is probably the only place people can vent about it a little.

But just like my example above with the death of a close loved one, if you are still moping around a year later, maybe then the best help you can get is someone telling you, "get over it". I'm not saying a year is the length of time for the anger phase, I think it varies for each person. But if you are still angry after a reasonable time, then you probably have some blue pill still running through your system. And it really can hold you back personally. The anger phase is a tough one to get through, lots of things about the red pill are hard. But sometimes we do things because they are hard, it's part of being a man I think.

I'm new and joined about six months ago. I'm still in the anger phase, and I have to say after reading your post, I want the last five minutes of my life back. I learned nothing new about why I'm angry, or how to get passed it. Did I miss something? I know this comes across as really harsh, but my God that was a lot of words saying nothing. I'm really disappointed. I've been struggling with this phase and I was hopng to find something useful here.
