It's just a big lie that makes people feel better - it makes fat/short/ugly/weak/whatever people feel like they belong (but people will treat them like crap despite whatever facade of niceties they might put up), it lets them be complacent and not take action to improve their lot, and it makes the in shape/attractive/whatever people feel less guilty for living better lives.

I'd support it were it based on the true meaning of acceptance, ie treating people the same despite intangible shortcomings. Anything beyond that however would be trying to sell a lie in the same vein as saying fat people are as sexually attractive as fitter ones.
