Don't do it. Getting involved with women at work gives them all the power. One friend had a woman near claim he raped her. Ruined his reputation and nearly cost him his job. It's just not with it.

She claimed she raped him and it was his reputation on the line?

Mistake fixed.

While the go-to advice is 'Dont shit where you eat'. You have to basically weigh how much you value the job you are at into the equation.

If you're flipping burgers at McDicks as a job that brings in minimum wage and don't really care if they fire you then by all means fuck your coworkers. If on the other end of the spectrum you're working as a paralegal/lawyer for a prestigious law firm and raking in a 6 figure salary... Yeah the stakes are probably too high at that point to consider banging the coworkers.

Remember: The one who cares about the relationship the least has the most power. This includes the employer-employee relationship. It is also why the general advice is sound because when you bang women at work you have to include how much you value your job into the equation as well because you will probably lose it in the break-up because you wont be able to work around such a cunt as she will turn out to be when you stop fucking her.

There are exceptions to every rule... it just so happens if your job is a piece of shit and you could easily get another one that's what causes the exception here.

This is the best answer (IMHO).

General consensus is if it's your career then that comes first, if you're a student and working in a bar to get some money for summer then go for it.

Basically you have to accept the risk of losing your job.

Girl in work fucked a guy. Claimed she was pregnant. Blackmailed him into paying 1000s for an abortion (abortion is illegal here, so she would have to fly abroad).

She was not pregnant. She continued blackmailing him. Eventually he gave up and told hr. They were both sacked.

If your the office alpha I'm sure you can get some tail on the side. Don't shit where you eat.

I'm not. Just another peon like her.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Too risky if you want to build your career or want to work there longer. If you plan on leaving soon or don't really care go ahead & enjoy.

Your status as a man is wholly contingent on your earning potential. Without your job/income you are nothing. Why would you risk that chasing tail? Unless you're in a small town there's plenty of pussy to be had outside the walls of your place of employment.

Ok I understand the risks involved but let's try to look at this from a more positive perspective. If you share a similar position in which you both are looking to excel, is there no way that it can actually work and be beneficial for the both of you? Like we could help each other out in ways that your male coworker cannot?

I honestly think that all of these people are full of it.

More than 50% of long term relationships of people I've known (and apparently, everyone) that were post-school came from dating someone they knew at work.

In real life, I've personally seen several people say "don't shit where you eat", then turn around and date or sleep with several people they work with. I kinda feel like they say that because they don't want competition, or the "real" meaning is one of those shit-tests, where you have to overcome the saying and realize it's not true yourself.

Dating where you work definitely has some things you should think about that you don't need to if you don't date at work, but it has advantages to - like a girl you work with isn't going to shit test you like a girl in a club will, a girl you work with being attracted to you is more likely to last because it's more likely to be based on how you actually act rather than your ability to put on a sales routine, your social proof is also often far more real, etc etc.

Bottom line is, be even more afraid of dating crazy chicks (who will go around saying bad things about you if you break up), and the closer they work to you the more you should be cautious - if you and a girl in another department break up it's usually fairly easy to avoid her, if she's sitting next to you all day every day that's different, whether she doesn't like you or if she goes out with someone else instead you have to continue interacting with her.

Watch tv - culture has changed about dating at work. Every show has examples of people who work together sleeping with each other and working things out when they break up, it's the new cultural norm.

It does come with risks, but frankly, you take risks every time you date or sleep with a girl ever.

true. just remember that if you fuck it up, she will likely spread negative rumors whether true or not.
