Testosterone is important to most of the strategies discussed here. Note I'm not a scientist of medical professional of any kind so don't take this as medical advice and please do correct me for the sake of my own knowledge. I also didn't keep any of my sources, sorry. I don't know THAT much but I know our hormone levels are influenced by a few things:
Making it want to produce more: exercise is key. Muscle mass. High intensity interval training.
Making sure your body is producing as much T as it wants: sleep, eating enough of the right fats, vitamin D, zinc, magnesium, etc.
Your body tries to convert some of it to estrogen somehow: various functions based on aromatase, cortisol, and estrogenic products like soy and BPA, etc.
We can prevent some of that conversion: consume aromatase inhibitors such as dark chocolate, green tea, tomatoes, celery, broccoli. Avoid BPA and soy. Meditation to counter stress.
I also read somewhere that our bodies tend to self-regulate towards a certain balance of hormones no matter what we do (see the 3rd point above). I also remember reading that having sex with a new woman, having multiple women "on rotation", and defeating others in competitions of some kind actually boost our testosterone. Risk-taking behaviours might also give us a boost. It makes sense: all of us have felt that "high" after sex with a new girl, the confidence boost of having several plates, and the rush of a victory or successful risk-taking event. I wondered if it's possible that these behaviours are what determines the balance that our systems want to maintain. But at the end of the day, is our testosterone fixed? Is being "alpha" purely genetic or is there something we can do about it? Can we really sustain high levels of testosterone permanently or is it genetically determined?
I thought about evolution. Imagine two pre-human species living in tribes. In one species, testosterone is fixed. 1 in 5 men are born with high T and emerge as natural leaders, but upon their deaths a weak leader takes his place and the tribe might die out, or at the very least in the absence of aggressive males fewer children are born. In the other species, if the tribal leader dies, the first to step in and offer leadership, the one who is regarded as the next-best mating option, the one who defeated the others in the contest for power is given a boost to his testosterone which helps him be a better alpha for his tribe. maybe better than the first guy. He fathers many children and is a strong leader for when stuff isn't going so well.
In this sense, evolution is "smart." It doesn't actually know what attributes are going to lead to reproductive success, so it lets everything play out before having to place its bet. It waits to see who actually comes out on top and then helps that man maintain his dominant reproductive position. And from a meta perspective, the societies that had leaders that could be replaced serially (ie without having two viable leaders at a time, but with a "backup" always available) probably survived the best.
So how can we use this? Spinning plates and always having sex with new girls will boost your testosterone, maybe leading to the "dry spells" that are so hard to get out of and the "momentum" that we get on the good days. But this is often the goal, how do we get there? Go out and compete in something, preferably physical. Take some risks. If you're on a win streak with the girls, don't let it die off or it will be even harder to get back into it. And of course, live as healthy as you can. This will at least help you get to the highest level possible in your current position.
TL;DR I think it is possible that the "alpha" lifestyle is what leads to high testosterone, rather than raising your T to become more alpha. Essentially, "fake it till you make it." Once you've got your health sorted out, force your lifestyle to be that of an alpha male, your hormone profile will eventually follow, and that lifestyle will become less forced and more natural.
Just a thought. Any criticism?
