keepin' it short, also i'm from Poland so I use google to translate some medical terms

SUMMARY

Probably everybody here knows by now that hormones are not to fuck with. 100% accurate. However, I see mentioned only Testosterone, Estrogen and Cortisol. What goes unspoken is thyroid.

BODY

Thyroid gland is part of our body responsible for secretion of thyroid. This hormone is responsible for a lot of things, mood of course included.

I'm in my 19, and been experiencing fatigue, problems with losing fat (here, don't think that thyroid may be only reason you fatass dont lose weight), and also knee ache. When I told my family doctor, I was instructed to take some vit D and cod-liver oil. Helped a little as it is good thing for you after all.

It was after I heard my younger sister had problems with Thyroid that I done TSH test, fast forward 3 months, some medications I lost 5kg of fat and was diagnosed with Hoshimoto's disease. My body kills thyroid hormone by itself. I got medicines, 1 pill each day and I should be good.

What if I didn't do test?

  • Living with knee ache for the rest of my life
  • being tired all the time
  • harder to lose weight
  • IQ lowering for up to 30%
  • bigger chances for thyroid cancer

Remember you don't have to experience ALL the symptoms to be affected.

Why do I bore with all that shit?

While men are much less likely to suffer that disease than women, it is not only disease related to that hormone (which likes to fuck up a loooot). Gladly, all you have to do is just that TSH test. If it gets higher than 3 (norm is said to be up to 4,7, but it is not optimal), hit some good endocrinologist.

Remember, it stays for lifetime. Don't let it fuck you for a lifetime.
