Summary: In this post, I will share a metaphorical construct that helped me get over the "Anger Phase" and helps me understand my life

If life is a river, then some people are sponges and other people are stones.

Sponges are highly permeable. They are easily influenced. Their emotional state depends on others treating them a certain way. They do not hold strong beliefs. The emotional state of a sponge is very porous - they tend to adopt the attitudes and beliefs of whatever person is influencing them at the moment. If you get mad at them, they get mad at you. If you smile at them, they smile right back at you. They rarely introspect or think critically about their own life. Since they rarely form an appetite for acquiring self-knowledge, they live life in a highly reactive manner. In the river of life, the sponges float quickly down the river, and their course changes with every little change in the current.

Stones are impermeable. They are not so easily influenced. They have a greater-than-average degree of control over their emotional state. They have acquired this control through introspection, which led them to develop very strong beliefs. The emotional state of a stone is often a total mystery to others, because stones have achieved mastery over their own emotions. If you get mad at a stone, he does not immediately get mad back at you -- rather, he has the ability to choose his response. He might simply laugh at you. He might become mildly frustrated. He might just walk away. If you smile at a stone, he won't immediately smile back -- maybe he'll just wink. In the river of life, the stones move slower and more steadily than sponges. Sponges react to every single little wave in the water, but it takes a lot more to move a stone. Unlike sponges, stones don't react -- they act, and cause others to react.

Children are sponges. Everyone knows this. They soak up as much information as they can. They have zero emotional self-regulation and they don't think critically, and they are easily tricked into doing stupid things that are not in their best interest. It's okay though, because everyone knows they are sponges and treats them as such.

Women are sponges. They are less sponge-like than children, but they are sponges nonetheless. Women never introspect or think critically about life, so it was very easy for the elites to trick them into thinking that a ride on the Cock Carousel and a life as an Office Slave is more rewarding than raising a family. Women have very little emotional self-control and they don't think critically, so it was very easy to trick them.

Beta males are sponges. They are less sponge-like than children or women, but they are definitely sponges. They rarely introspect or think critically about life, so it was very easy for the elites to trick them, via media propaganda, into thinking that women are wonderful, that men are terrible, and that the answer to all their problems is to find a woman and spend their lives serving her interests instead of their own.

High-testosterone males are stones. Men who lean towards an "Alpha" behavioral role tend to be harder to manipulate than children, women, and beta males. They are not so quick to sacrifice their lives in the service of a woman. They introspect and they think critically, and they weigh their options before making any kind of decision. It's quite hard to trick them into serving your interests instead of their own, because they are more sure of themselves and thus less easily-influenced.

My father is a sponge. I wish he was a stone but he's just not. Whatever woman he's dating sets the frame around his reality. I didn't detect it at the time, but when he was married to my mom he was really just an extension of my mom. And now that he's with a different woman, he's just an extension of her. He never invested time into developing himself, so he lives as a "captured agent" of the women he is fucking. Like many men who tend to play a "Beta" role in life, my father is easy to trick. Society tricked him into believing in the Blue Pill narrative, and now his new girlfriend has tricked him into a whole bunch of nutty beliefs. My father does not introspect and he does not think critically, so he is easily tricked. He invests his energy into the women he dates, and he rarely invests energy into self-development.

My brother is a stone. He does not change his beliefs for any women that he dates. When he dates them, he does it on his own terms. He sets the frame and they react. They act to win his favor, not the other way around. He is hard to trick, because he thinks critically about each new piece of information that he receives. He does not blindly believe or follow. He invests his energy into himself via exercise and skill-building, and then he reaps the dividends.

Thinking about the world in these terms helps me to understand that no one -- children, women, and beta males included -- is inherently evil. They're just sponges. It's in their nature.

When a beta male decides to act like a crab in the bucket and tear his brothers down instead of building himself up, he is not trying to be evil. He is trying to do the right thing. In his spongey reality, he is just trying to do what the media has told him is the right thing -- to be the White Knight in shining armor who shows the girls how the smirking bad boy they lust after is actually an ignorant cad.

When a woman ensnares a Beta Provider and then Divorce Rapes him, she is not trying to be evil. She's trying to do the right thing. In her mind, in her reality, she is justified. She is a sponge. She's just doing what her lawyers suggest that she should do.

When a child hits another child, he is not trying to be evil. He is trying to do the right thing. In his mind, in his reality, he is is justified. He is a sponge. He's just doing what his momentary emotions tell him to do. In two seconds, someone will smile at him and his emotions will completely change and he'll forget about hitting anyone.

Transcending the Anger Phase

Recognize that no one is inherently evil. No one who you think is an asshole gets out of bed in the morning and says "Today I'm gonna be a fucking asshole." Actually, they get out of bed and simply start reacting to things.... because they are sponges. It's in their nature.

Now that you have found TRP, you have gained the ability to be a stone if you choose to. Congratulations. That is awesome for you. But you must understand that all the sponges around you ain't gonna become stones too. They're gonna remain sponges.

You can't really fault a sponge for being a sponge. You can't fault a white knight for being a white knight. You can't even fault a woman for divorce-raping a guy. They are sponges. It's in their nature. They're just sponging along, doing their spongey thang. If someone gets hurt, they don't feel bad because they were just following someone else's suggestions anyway. It's not like they were thinking critically and deciding to divorce-rape their husbands - they were just doing what everyone told them they should do.

Lessons Learned

A good way to transcend the anger phase is to recognize that the people you're mad at are rarely inherently evil. Rather, they are simply weak and sponge-like.

Instead of spending your energy lashing out at all the sponges you're mad at, instead you should spend your energy becoming a stone.
