Since the concept of "frame" is pretty hard for beginners to understand, I often get asked to explain it. And every time I find myself simply showing the person this video (turn on audio in the upper-right corner).

It has nothing to do with dating. It's of a guy promoting his extermination services door-to-door and specifically to a woman, that very clearly doesn't want anything to do with him.

Notice three things:

  1. He doesn't budge from his view on things, and most importantly he agrees & amplifies, thanks to which he turns her concerns into jokes. There's nothing she can say that he won't turn into a non-issue.
  2. He doesn't hold the door open by force. At any point in time she can just shut the door and end the interaction.
  3. At the end, she starts laughing. At that point, she entered his frame. The mean bitch demeanor is gone, her frame broke down.

Yes, I know he probably didn't make that sale, the point of this post is something entirely different. Hope this live example can help you understand frame better and you're able to apply it in your dating life
