TL;DR: Listen to people who have what you want and have been where you are.

The world is full of advice and information. In an era so over saturated with opinions and advice, how do you discern who you should listen to?

We all have a natural inclination to listen to those who we perceive to be higher value than us, the problem is our perception of value can be distorted through a persons appearance, vernacular, or authority in our lives. Betas will listen to attractive women like its fucking divine truth. Women will listen to an smooth talking alpha man with unending lust and curiosity. People will heed the advice of their parents, their peers, their bosses, and anyone with a perceived higher authority.

What you need to do in figuring out from whom to take advice, is to correctly discern their value. There are two questions you need to ask yourself:

Do they have what I want? Have they been where I am now?

If the answer to both these questions is yes, it's a safe bet that their words are worth heeding. If you dont know, find out. If the answer is no to either of those, take it with a grain of salt.

It's also important to be content specific in your discernment. The experienced body builder at your gym who went from skinny to champion will probably have great advice for fitness for your twiggy ass, but would you listen to his advice on business if he didn't have anything to show for it? There is no perfect mentor, no perfect adviser.

This is why TRP is so powerful, because whether we are consciously applying these principles or not, we are still most inclined to listen to people who fulfill these requirements, and this place is chalk-full of people who have been where we started, and have reached where would like to go.

Look past a persons appearance, past their smooth talking, past their gorgeous pair of tits, and past what they say they have accomplished, and look at their actions (familiar right?). Apply this to all the books you read, all people who offer up their advice, and all people who teach, and you will be wiser for it.
