Wordpress is open source. Why on earth is he using their free service? He needs to pay the 5 bucks a month to host the blog on his own server and be done with this. Not just because of the threats, but all respectable bloggers have their own independent Wordpress blog. It's the only way to generate revenue.

You should take your protest up with Facebook, Twitter, ROK, Stormfront, and all the hundreds of private, right-leaning websites that ban or delete comments they don't agree with.

Explain how Heartiste's right to free speech exceeds WordPress property rights, right to freedom of association, and Terms of Service. Cognitive dissonance, it's what's for dinner.

A downvote without a refutation is just an attempt to hide speech you disagree with. Hiding speech you disagree with is the exact same thing this article claims to be about.

I downvoted you, because you're too stupid to understand the difference between 'we should protest this' and 'we should sick the government on these people'.

They have property rights, kind of. They shouldn't, because they aren't people, but because we have a supreme court that should be hung from the Washington Monument while being forced to watch their kids get drawn and quartered on the national mall, they do, but they shouldn't. But that doesn't actually remove our right to protest these people at all.

In fairness, it's easier to stay anonymous by not anchoring yourself to a server.

Also, $5/mo doesn't get you your own server in the truest sense of having a single machine to yourself. At the volume of traffic they're pulling, they would need to look into have at least one good, true dedicated server along with some serious CDN stuff hooked up to lighten the load.

All things being equal (which they apparently no longer are) hosting with WP is the simplest and most anonymous solution.

Yeah, I scratch my head at the relative lack of technical implementation in the manosphere.

In truth they need to do what the "provider" websites in prostitution finally did: start setting up their own free website hosting services so they don't have to answer someone else's interpretation of right vs wrong.

Yeah, I suppose the anonymous aspect is good, and if you want to rent server space anonymously it takes a bit more technical know how. But for the most part, even the big guys offer WhoIs protection, so unless you have some really dedicated insiders, you should be fine.

My thing is, they are bringing in all this traffic and giving all that revenue to Wordpress when they could be putting it into their pocket.

If he's reading this, I can get him up and running on a clean WP theme with server hosting in just a few hours.

Wordpress is allowed to censor or delete whatever they want with their terms of service. You of course are not obligated to use their service and go with a competitor or simply host your own blog.

I only take issue to the fact that Kevin says he'll "remove the blog from the internet", as if he's some sort of white knight super hero using his powers for the betterment of mankind. He'd be removing the blog from wordpress.com's hosting service, but not "the internet" as the blog can go elsewhere.

I've always been liberal and am not changing sides, but I gotta agree with you - "hate speech" is just becoming another word for "heresy/ideas against the state/insulting the king".

I don't think it's lacking on the conservative side, but they didn't spend the last several decades talking about how important free speech was, only to turn around and be huge hypocrites about it.

There has however been abuse of youtube reporting to fuck up the accounts of people posting such materials (and even their own original materials) by false flagging over something as trivial as using an image or a 3 second video clip which should be covered by fair use, or by claiming that the material in question violates some kind of rule when it doesn't. So the auto-moderation software removes the video and takes action against the account holder and appeals take forever.

The problem I guess is that google doesn't have the resources to hire enough people to handle that all properly since youtube is fucking massive.

The article talks about young males frustrated by feminism turning to violence. (lack of early marriages, and all females 'exploring their sexuality' with a few apex males)

But it doesn't make the connection to the well established fact that societies with polygyny are more violent. Lots of young males without partners are more frustrated and more willing to do something/anything to stand out and have a chance for a bride.

Feminism practically established soft harems for the apex males and turned the western world into a de facto polygyny. The consequences from that shift are starting to arrive.
