Just recently broke up with a girlfriend of almost two years. I'll probably pen up more writing about the day I found out, because holy shit it was dramatic and I know you guys love that shit, but right now I have an interesting and quick story for you.

My ex had a dog when she and I started dating, he was about nine months old or so. I loved the hell out of this dog. I taught this dog tricks and helped train him, took him to dog parks, bought toys and harnesses for him, etc.

Her dog was very energetic, it had been a long time since I'd had canine companionship of my own, and so I decided to get my own dog so ours could be dogbros. They absolutely became dogbros immediately, constantly playing all day every day, tug of war, chasing each other. Best fucking friends ever. Anyway that isn't really the topic.

She would shit test me with this BS "you don't treat them equally". This mostly started because my 10 week old puppy needed to be walked pretty much every half hour, while her dog already had been potty trained and didn't need to go out more than normal. At first this really bugged me, because I obviously did love them both, and I don't even see it as quantifiable. I mean even if you used a rational measurement of time spent with both, they are always together, so any time I spent with one was with the other. After a bit I turned this back on her and started teasing her. I'd snuggle with my dog and say "you are the best dog on the whole planet, no other dogs even compare to this dog right here." It was fun to watch her seethe when I did that.

But you know what, my fellow RPers? Here's the real fucking deal right here. I can't remember the specific circumstance that brought this up, but she wanted to send a picture of my dog to her friend or something. I didn't have my phone on me at the time so I said "just send one of the ones you've taken of him." She turns on her phone. Camera. Gallery. Scroll. Scroll. Scroll... Scroll... Scroll. Selfies of her, selfies with her dog, selfies with me, but absolutely nothing with my dog in it. You can bet your ass that my phone was loaded with pics and videos of time spent with her dog, and our dog together.

TLDR After five months of raising a puppy with me, this bitch didn't have a single photo of my dog on her phone, but still felt justified criticizing that I didn't love her dog enough.
