These are actual quotes from the comments in that thread. I want you all to read these very carefully so you know and understand what women are saying when they think you're not listening or paying attention. Keep in mind: These are not made up. I did not write these, but I will add emphasis.

I don't think he was 'the one' but he was too tier for sure. I was four years younger than I am now and I was still carrying around a lot of baggage that I didn't realize was so happy. I knew I had some emotional growing to do but I didn't realize exactly how far off I was until about six months ago. Don't get me wrong I wasn't deranged or anything but I wasn't the kind of partner I should have been to have the relationship with him I wanted to have. We mutually broke it off and I ended up moving to another state. I've had to make a lot of personal changes for health reasons and realized looking back now how much anxiety I had and how much baggage I was carrying around. but that's part of growing up I guess. Now I have someone new and amazing, my priorities have shifted quite a bit, and I can see myself being happier than I ever imagined.

NEVER tell them. It's not as hard as you think to get the hang of it honestly. It comes naturally. But don't tell them you're not experienced. I know they'll all say they're fine with it but they're not.

It's similar to a woman who's slept with 25 men by age 30. You might wanna say you're okay with it but most guys (and women) just feel that knot of "ew" in their stomach. There's an old saying that's still true when it comes to attraction, women don't want to win they want a winner. That obviously doesn't apply to all aspects of life but remember that attraction isn't something we choose. Sexual attraction is a reflex and it's evolved over hundreds of thousands of years in a pretty brutal environment. We can pretend to think our way out of it but at the end of the day we're animals.

The best thing you can do is just not bring experience up. If they ask just be vague, you don't have to lie.

Men like to feel like they're leading, women like to feel secure and taken care of. It makes sense when you take the environments we evolved in into consideration. (Women needed protection, that doesn't make as much sense now but every woman I've dated said she loves how safe, small and secure they feel. I'll admit I love how it feels to care for and provide for women, especially my fiancee who I have a deep connection with so deeper things do matter but that initial attraction had to be there, she really is special. It's animal instinct. Women have them too and being inexperienced is one of the things they tend to run from in a guy, especially when he's past 30.)

Anyway I'm babbling. I love the subject of attraction and psychology and I'm bored at work. My main advice is to not bring up your lack of experience, women are instantly put off by it. (You'll notice a lot of "that's sweet, that's adorable and you're a great guy and I'm sure you'll find the right girl eventually" type responses I bet.) I know it's easier said than done but just try to stay calm about it because there's nothing worse than freezing up or feeling self conscious or analyzing everything during a kiss or sex. That's why a lot of typically hot girls are like dead fish in bed. They're worried about how they look to you so their head is elsewhere and you can feel it. The most attractive thing is losing yourself to the passion which you should be able to feel as you go.

I've thankfully found myself an exception, a woman who judges people the same way you say you do, based on who they are, not things like this.

I've had woman after woman, though, say they find my experience attractive because it means I "chose" her out of all the others and it makes them feel "secure" as well as other typically masculine things about me. I'm not sure how my fiancee would judge guys like this but I doubt she'd care. But she's like you, she's an exception. Like I said, it's the female equivalent to how guys judge women who've slept with lots of guys.

It's funny how I don't get these negative comments any time I describe men's exclusive negative behavior.

It's funny how people behave one way in every day life but when a subject is broached they claim to believe and do the opposite. Where are they all? They never behave that way in public. (That's why in my other comment I brought up the "you're a great guy, any woman would be lucky to have you, I'm sure you'll find her one day" conversation that I've heard lots of guys complain about. It's funny how "any woman" would be lucky to have him when he brings up his lack of experience and how he's considered to be "sweet" yet he can't find any. I mean to deny that this is a thing in our culture, that men are judged negatively based on their lack of experience, based on the idea that women are sexually attracted to "experienced" guys who are comfortable and confident in any situation, including with women, (I've heard from multiple women that they prefer that I'm desirable, similar to the whole trophy wife thing. It's another "experience" thing, me lacking experience with women would mean I'm undesirable. If I'm undesirable it means I'm the best she could do which reflects badly on her. It's why certain women lose their shit if an ugly "loser" approaches them, they take it as a personal insult that he thought he could even have a chance) is funny. (If you're not doing that and you're just explaining your own preferences then I apologize.) I mean there's movie after movie about this where the inexperienced old guy is the butt of the joke. 40 year old virgin comes to mind. An interesting exchange in the comments, one commenter shares her story answering the OP, and gives this tiny nugget:

To which another commenter replies:

You realize he straight up told you that you treated him as a non-desirable man and that he thinks you and your past relationship were boring right? Just making sure.

The interesting part is the responses to the second commenter. They just cannot stop falling over themselves to tell the second commenter that they are misreading what the first commenter said. The first commenter even comes back and hits us with this tidbit:

He said that dating had been a much more positive experience after our relationship, and he had me to thank.

Even though her own words just reaffirm what the second commenter originally pointed out, they seem to want this narrative that, even though the relationship didn't work out, it wasn't because the first commenter treated the relationship and her boyfriend like it and he didn't matter- it's that she taught this guy the value of a relationship where someone does treat the man like he and the relationship matters.

So then we are left with a paradigm where she sees this failure that she had her hand in as not a failure in letting a good man get away, at all- but instead teaching a man she didn't realize was a good one how to not be treated.

I mean, I guess, because that reasoning sounds awful just typing it back.

The inconsistency in the reasoning is breathtaking. *See... You wouldn't have found this better relationship if not for me! But I did nothing wrong by making it boring and treating you like you didn't matter. You aren't some good guy that got away. You were a project boyfriend that I made better for some other girl.

I would have preferred to see her say, "Yeah. I fucked that one up. He could have been mine, but I let it dangle, 'cause reasons."

I get it, though. Were I the ex in that comment talking to that commenter, I'm not sure I would be able to word, "our relationship was the opposite of fun, and you treated me like I didn't matter," kindly. But I would have tried.

Not really a girlfriend, more like a friendship with some fucking thrown in. She'd done porn for a well known company but didn't last long and said I wouldn't be able to find her videos (I did). She was actually pretty cool but crazy and very self centered. She didn't like that I wasn't bi and thought I was closeminded because I wouldn't suck dick. By then most of the interest had faded anyway. She met a guy that owned a chain of supermarkets and I guess that was her meal ticket. She got pretty serious and ended up marrying him. She plays the respectable wife and takes a lot of softly lit photos of her dogs playing on the beach. They move into a house with a picket fence.

Had that happen to me. Dated this woman for two years, and asked her to marry me. She said yes, and while I was preparing a life for myself, she was lazy, uncompromising on her family, thoughtless, and in the end a terrible communicator.

Made the mistake of breaking up with her previously, because to that point she was the best relationship I'd had, was that I took her back. When I broke up with her for good she cried and for the next six months tried everything to get me back. It was sad to watch, because I believe she was sincere. She said things like "I'll never meet another one like you", and not to be arrogant, I agree, because I loved her with all of my heart and in her words "treated (her) like she was the most precious woman in the world". The effort I put into the relationship was not returned by her.

The point of view of the person who breaks up is important. It broke me up inside, and this is when I approached MGTOW, because I realized that even though she was the best I'd met and dated, she was so lacking in what was necessary to be a wife. She was beautiful, great in bed and made me feel like a mountain, was sweet, had a good heart, and I believe genuinely loved me, but was completely incapable of the day to day responsibilities, and unable to understand my positions on issues or compromise. That scared me to death, and when I approached her about this, she barely said or did anything.

It's of little solace when you have been the one "that got away", and this has happened with two other women in my life. Because of our current world and feminism the modern woman is greatly lacking in being prepared for marriage. Even if they have good intentions none of it matters if they are unable to be a wife. Most woman nowadays are woefully lacking, and I barely have the heart to continue to look. Too painful to see.

For sure. My first ever boyfriend was amazing but I was very young (16-17) and at first I was crazy about him but the crazier about me he got, the more I felt out of love. I panicked and bolted. It was a huge relief to be “free” again at the time. He called me three months later pleading to get back together and I turned him down. It was all just too intense.

In my twenties, I had a gift for becoming absolutely consumed with a guy who was barely or superficially interested in me and was therefore totally unable to “see” good guys around me who were genuinely interested. The last time this happened was three years ago. It’s actually horrible that I do this and I hate it. It’s like I can genuinely recognize that the good guy who’s interested in me is the right choice but I get consumed by my interest in the first guy. It really dislike this about myself and have missed out on some great guys because of it.
