Knew a fellow employee who married a mail order bride from an Island Pacific country. Their money quickly went back to her country to build a home for her family. She had him buy all new furniture for their home here and drained his savings. He had owned his home outright but ended up taking out a mortgage loan. He got so desperate he ended up embezzling funds from work. He was caught, given the option to retire and pay it back with house arrest. The Judge took pity on him due to his long career, age and the fact he had always been a model employee.

We were all in shock when this went down. He was the last person we imagined who could have done something like that. he had well over 35 years with the company when this happened. Guy was one of the nicest people I'd ever known.
