Even assuming the absolute best case scenario, in that they weren't sleeping together before the break: the father of the child doesn't want her, and he does because he's a "good guy".
Clearly he's not happy with this despite him saying so because he's already having doubts and second thoughts about this. Notice the wording here "ideally he would father the baby". Is it because Chad isn't father material? They need to carry on "as normal", but imagine if the shoe were on the other foot. Think she would've taken him back if he knocked someone up on their break? Hell no.
He needs to end it, cut his losses and move on. He probably isn't good with women because if he was he wouldn't have taken her back.
