Imagine being a white woman in a first world country (aka life on easy mode) and you’re STILL not happy because some dudes open doors. There’s no pleasing these people.

Times are changing, grandpa. These days, the proper thing to do is race a woman to the door (don't worry, you'll win), get through it fast as possible, then grab it from the other side and hold it closed. That way if she gets in she proves she's just as strong and capable as a man and it symbolizes that she's beaten the patriarchy just a little bit more.
If she can't manage to do that, well, great work champ, one less to worry about!

Hell man I yeild-to/hold-for everybody at doorways, as do a lot of people I know. It gets to the point sometimes where you both stand there for a second silently yielding the right of way to each other until someone goes. I call it a Minnesota standoff.

The vilification of so called "nice guys" are in line with this thinking - if a man presents himself as kind, he must be doing so out of self interest. Kindness is then synonymous with toxicity.
This is what gets me about modern feminism. It presents a catch 22. All actions a man does, whether good or bad, is the result of "toxic" masculinity and "patriarchy".
Another example is when men talk about the many inequalities that men face, such as homelessness and unfair treatment in divorce. Feminists will say that these too are caused by "patriarchy". Once feminists have full control, they say, those problems men face will disappear as well.
It makes the claims unfalsifiable, which causes it to be beyond reproach and criticism. It allows the adherents of feminism to shift goalposts at a moment's notice. That's why it's difficult to debate them because they are able to play all sides.

Feminists will say that these too are caused by "patriarchy"
Spot on. They will also say that the high rates of male suicide is the result of "toxic masculinity" because men are forced to be "tough" and not show emotions, while at the same time mocking and belittling men who do show emotions for not being "man enough".
Toxic femininity is the major cause of most if not all contemporary problems. Women are trash.
[–]harharry15 points16 points17 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I think the toxic masculinity issue is a giant projector of women’s behavior onto men. Sure men like to get laid(who doesn’t?/nothing wrong with that) but women interpret nice/good behavior as a front because that’s what they usually knew from their relations with other women. Couple that with feeling less attracted to guys who behave this way and you get a sad, cynical picture.
The worst part is the misinformation. Sure she wants a guy who treats her well, but the missing info often includes: money, sexual options, confidence, etc. If he can get a lot of girls for relatively little effort, then why would he put up with one random gal’s issues when he can enjoy variety and excitement at every turn? It’s absurd what women want these days.

Brilliant analysis.
The vilification of so called “nice guys” are in line with this thinking - if a man presents himself as kind, he must be doing so out of self interest. Kindness is then synonymous with toxicity.
Equally, if a man presents as to “go his own way”, he’s a pathetic loser for not being “able” to find a woman. If a man fucks his way across a cheerleading squad, he’s a cad just in it for the sex. A man is only a man when he provides for a woman and allows her to still engage in hypergamous sexual exploration simultaneously. If your wife doesn’t have a boyfriend then you’re a failure as a man.
[–]newDerivur 8 points9 points10 points 7 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
That's why it's difficult to debate them because they are able to play all sides.
No, it's because a lot of men sing to the tune these women play. And because they have enough political clout to bury you if/when you do manage to oust one of them.
[–]CBU29 11 points12 points13 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
That’s the truth. If the majority of men were really as “toxic” and barbaric as neo-fems like to pretend they are, feminism wouldn’t exist.

Who downvoted this? It’s completely accurate and dovetails nicely with a statement I’ve both heard and said about gun owners:
“The 133 million American private firearm owners have 418 million guns and 2.24 trillion rounds of ammunition. We practice shooting an average of four times per month, which is six times more often than most police officers and twenty times as often as most members of the armed forces. If we were as violent as Alyssa Milano and the rest of the anti-gun dipshits claim we are You would know it!”
[–]Commonpleas4 points5 points6 points 7 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
There's a corresponding, generalized coarsening that says all the niceties, manners, and courteous acts of society are masked aggression.
Those who advocate the elimination of courtesy and manners in the name of being a "stunning and brave", strong, independent woman are merely aping the worst traits, habits, and characteristics of men. Their idea of showing the world they're strong is literally the adoption of so-called toxic masculinity.
Helping others and being kind and nurturing is associated with femininity and therefore weakness, so they reject anything that smells slightly of kindness, when they should be arguing that helping others and being nurturing are strengths that form part of their contribution to civilization.
Instead, we get their peculiar double-think that the only way a woman can be strong is to be a man.

Yes, there are many political philosophers who held/hold this view. All actions are driven by selfishness and nothing can ever truly be completely selfless.
It's not the philosophy that I have a problem with per say, but that those who follow it apply it unequally, and only to others. They want to claim some moral highground when such an idea isn't consistent with that particular philosophy. If all actions are selfish, then we are all in the same boat together.
And this brings me to another point. Because followers of this philosophy have this narrow, almost laser like precision to only target the wrongs of others, they tend to never be able or willing to self reflect on how their own actions are selfish. Which to me, has a part to play in enabling the widespread selfishness and hypocrisy we have been seeing (though in an ironic way, their hypocrisy is predicted by their own philosophy).
Edit: And I'll also say, even viewing the guy opening the door through that particular philosophy, doesn't necessarily mean he is doing so because he wants sex. He could be doing something because being polite to others is it's own reward. It gives him a good feeling having tickled his protective instincts. There is a wide spectrum that selfish motivation could fall in, but they always assume the very worst. Doing something for sex and doing it for to feel good about yourself are a wide breadth apart.

I don't hold doors, I don't wait and let women go first. In places where people line up (like, an elevator) if I'm there before you I'm going before you. None of that ladies first bs.
I get the look of disapproval frequently. Women and men are so programmed to expect that the women will always be given special treatment that when you treat them just like a man, aka equally and fairly, they think you're some kind of monster.
[–]TheYekke4 points5 points6 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
You have to stay consistent because underneath it all - all women are on Team Woman. Feminists are nothing more than the sedition and rebellion that each woman carries in their character. On the same token, that infantile little girl that has to be protected and coddled is also inside each and every one of them. Men expect consistency and logic, both traits completely absent in women unless it gives them an advantage.
Men arguing this is a raw deal will never get anywhere with women because they don’t care about justice.
What does work is to abandon any sign of willingness to protect women. That door that slams in your face when a woman does it becomes an empowering move (slave morality); when a man does it he’s a jerk (not living up to the supposed job a man has - the triple P). When all men start doing this the women realize they are now alone. This is why MGTOW has had the hammerblow effect ... since MGTOWs don’t advertise, women now have to assume all men won’t protect them any more. and tadaa...You will see feminists attempt to enshrine into law (police state) the protection they no longer will get willingly (street harassment, pound cake new 2, etc).

I hold doors for anyone behind me, regardless of age, gender, or anything else.
Children usually thank me.
Men always thank me.
The elderly always chat with me as they pass through.
Marriageable women of ages 16-30 almost never even acknowledge me until I say with a bright smile, “You’re welcome.”
I think that says something about our current society.
[–]ogrilla99Pez "The Pussy Dispenser" Pimp2 points3 points4 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I've noted this too. I used to hold doors open for everyone, often letting people (men, women, whatever) go through before me, and everyone thanked me, even if it was just a smile and a head nod. But young women stopped doing so probably ~5 years ago. I'm not looking for any acknowledgement for such a simple basic courtesy, so I didn't really care or notice, but when I started reading about how so many women actually think it's some kind of insult or veiled aggression and other such nonsense, I've actually stopped holding doors for women.
If I'm walking in and I sense someone is behind me but I can't tell if they're a man or woman, I'll still hold the door open. But if I know it's a woman behind me, I just go through the door. No need to deal with this nonsense.
[–]radicalizedIncel5 points6 points7 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I only do this for old people because I don't want to bump into them and then they fall down and break every bone in their bodies. And women with children because I don't want them dropping their babies and then blaming me for it. And children because once I collided with a kid and he headbutted me in the balls.

This is definitely a thing, and I actually managed to have a conversation with a SJW about this.

I don't open doors for women after that experience. Nothing cringier than a woman who just assumes you are checking them out.

How do people think this way? Like would they rather we just let the door slam into their ignorant faces? I just grew up thinking that holding doors for either gender is just a polite thing to do.
[–]BluepillProfessorMRP Mod1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
The SJW mainstream brainwashing is deep. This is how women really feel about men.
I always thought this entire MeToo nonsense was to put men in fear of women. I think it may be also to put women in fear of men! They want a divided culture with a low birth rate. I am beginning to think that all of this may not even be an attack on men but an even broader attack on our culture and institutions.
It just feels like an attack on men because ALL women are behind it and ALL women agree with the goals (to weaken men and gain power). But the real victim is Western Culture, not just men.
We had a good run. Last one out, please turn out the lights.

This is a short, but very good read. Haven't read most of the rest of the website to comment. It also links to an old interview with a former KGB agent that talks about techniques of subverting cultures. Very, very prescient given our current culture, and uncanny that the interview was now over a generation ago. Not saying it's coming from Russia, but it gives insight into what cultural Marxists, and armies of successfully indoctrinated useful idiots are doing to society.

I thankfully live in a region where nobody throws a fit about holding a door open for a woman. In fact, it's something that is universally applied as a polite action, so the "sexist" angle is never a problem.
I cannot imagine how warped this woman's mind is that she cannot just accept it if a guy holds a door open for her. Would she consider this "door holding harrassment?" Maybe instead of complaining, she can be gracious in the politeness. Cue the Jessica Valenti style contrasting tweet complaining how guys don't hold the door open for her anymore because too many women like her got hostile over a helpful action and they got sick of the resentment.
