When it comes to wanting a man to "prove himself" to a woman by taking her out to a fancy, expensive restaurant, there are problems that women like this one either fail to consider or are well aware of them but they just do not care about the man's perspective. One problem being the women who simply use dates as a means to get a free meal and nothing else. For the man who is genuinely trying to conform to the demands this woman makes in order to show that he is serious and thoughtful, the time and money he spends simply gets wasted when duplicitous women take advantage if his sincere gesture. When things do not "work out" for any chances of a relationship, it can be difficult to prove whether or not the woman had a vested interest in even trying to have the date lead to a relationship or not, as a woman has the easy out of claiming any reason she did not want to continue seeing him.

If a man finds himself going on many different first dates to fancy restaurants only to not get any relationship as a result, he is going to come to a realization: What he is doing does not work. This applies even if every woman he dates gave him a genuine chance (most likely he had a non-zero number of women who were in it just for a free meal). If you are going to do any action with the goal of achieving some result, you are going to want to see that result manifest at least once as a result. Otherwise, what is the point? "What an entitled attitude, you misogynist! A woman doesn't owe a man anything just because he takes her on a date!" True, a woman does not owe a man anything in this case. What I am talking about is the relationship between actions and incentives. If a man finds out that dates to fancy restaurants does not get him positive results, he has no incentive to continue treating women to those kinds of dates. He might as well go to a less expensive restaurant so that he at least does not lose as much money. In fact, why take a woman out to any restaurant? If women do not owe anything to men, then perhaps men do not owe paying for a woman's meal.

Another thing, how many women chastise other women who use men to get a meal ticket? If a woman does not know any women in particular who do this, at the very least she would need to be against this practice. Incentives matter, and if women want men to ever take them out to expensive restaurants, they need to prove to men that they are worth the effort in the first place. In the unlikely event that we see a return to such a practice being a good idea for men to do, other issues men face with inter-sexual dynamics will also likely have been addressed, since the issue of women using men as meal tickets is just a manifestation of a deeper issue of women viewing men as utilities and nothing more. I do not want men to be used by women as ATMs, so I urge all men to look out for their own best interests.

"When I asked him where we going..." is as far as you need to read to know she's over-estimating her own worth. The "shop" she owns is probably a beauty salon (whether the owner or one of the people that "leases" a chair and says they "own the shop" is irrelevant) or some other similar low-effort business. Just like her sentence structure.

You can own a business, a BMW, and a house.. it doesn't mean they're paid off, and it doesn't mean you're financially successful, or successful at all. It just means you've taken out a lot of loans.

Also.. penny stocks are a thing.. and they literally cost.. a penny. Congratulations. You now own stocks.

I wouldn't take a woman anywhere above fast casual on a date either. I don't really like that style of "date" either. A much better date is making a really nice meal together at home and getting some quality time in; it sure beats just sitting across from each other awkwardly in a nice setting.
