Write out a list of all the ideal qualities you would want in a partner, all of it: looks, personality, level of interest in hobbies, skills, humor. Then write down what you have that compliments that and what you lack and there's your daily read. Figure out what you can bring to the table to be on the level of the woman you want.

You want her to be smart but all you know about politics comes from The Daily Show and the last fiction book you read was in high school? Pick up a newspaper and a library card. You want a gal that can cook? Start watching some beginner cooking youtube, stock up essentials and cook for her first. Once she knows you own more than one pan and won't drown food in hot sauce, she'll be more enticed to show you her favorite foods. If you want her to have a banging bod, well...ya know what to do.

That said, for actual texts, I would highly recommend "The Five Love Languages" and "Come As You Are" by Emily Nagoski. The first is one that breaks down the ideas of how people give and receive love differently. Not only can it shed light on past problems, but prevent them down the line, i.e. if you give love to people through verbal affirmations but your partner responds to quality time- all the love letters in the world won't melt her heart as much as a long silent walk together. Whether or not you subscribe to the concept of the languages, it's a well known book in relationship counseling and a dead easy way to get a partner to open up about what they like in a relationship. Basically a cheatcode to maximize your affections and to communicate how to treat you as well.

The other is a very gentle but scientific approach to how female desire and pleasure works and will make you stand out amongst the porn-addicted and male-desire driven world. I actually had it recommended by a former partner who had read it and literally changed my world from thinking sex was something that was just okay but not really about my enjoyment to still thinking about him many many years later with a smile.

Seriously, follow Derrick Jaxn on YouTube and Instagram. It's not a book, but he is - in my opinion - a very high value man.

Personally I'd recommend reading lots of philosophy. Sophie's World is an entertaining and very informative summary of the history of philosophy, and a good place to start. You shouldn't take being HVM only in relation to dating, but for the sake of your human spirit too.

I like to read novels that revolve around moral themes. Books like Crime and Punishment, anything by Dickens, 1984, To Kill a Mockinbird... etc. Personally I think self-help books push a narrative of how you should be, but the kind of books I mentioned makes you question right and wrong more and develop your own opinion. They will also help you develop empathy which is very important. Plus being more cultured always helps.

I'd recommend volunteering, donating or participating in some charities as well, if you're in a position to do so at the moment.
