Firstly, you are doing really well by questioning his words and waiting for actions. If you ask questions, he can future-fake or lie. So I would suggest further examining if his actions reflect his words and your standards for a relationship.
Secondly, FDS does not support being solely financially supported by a man. You should always strive for higher education and a lucrative career. A man can have a provider mindset while married to an educated, working woman. You should always have your own income for your own safety. At the end of the day, the person you depend and trust is yourself. HVM can always turn to LVM—even 15 years later. It is critical that you are always sufficient so you are not obligated to stay.
