The best thing you can do is be there for her, support her, and treat her the way you wish you had been treated back then. Share things she can relate too like memes, TikTok’s, tumblr posts. Get books for her. Take her out for lunch or coffee and talk about how you felt at that age and remind her you love her and she’s beautiful the way she is, and ask her how she’s feeling. Make sure she knows she can always always talk to you.

Do you know your sister enough to know what kind of support she prefers? When I was her age, I barely shared my true feelings but appreciated ppl close to me complimenting me and verbally showing love. So I always think of that now when offering my support to friends/family. Kinda like the 5 love languages, but for friends, tailoring it to make sure they feel loved and supported.

I would def support the advice given above about standing up to your mom, showing your sister support but also ways she herself can stand up to your mom (standing up for yourself and standing your ground are hard things to do at 16)

Do you know why you don't have that relationship with her?

I'd examine that then do everything possible to be there for her. Talk to her, connect, in any way you can. Plan a weekend away, if that isn't in the budget, camp. Do anything to connect and show her 15 can suck but she can pull herself out.
