I'm confused and hope you guys can help me out.

I've recently started dating a man who asked me what I believe the gender roles should be and to give him examples. He basically asked what I would like it to be.

I found myself confused and conflicted. I am very traditional in some ways but in others I'm not.

Yes, I expect a guy to pay on the date and to open the door. I'm also very happy with a guy who can cook or be more emotional and sensitive. I am also ambitious and driven career wise and want a supportive partner. And I don't want to he dominated or to follow the lead of a man in a relationship yet I want to be able to respect him enough to follow him sometimes.

I'm curious how you would answer this question?
