I scour r/deadbedrooms every now and then, as I've been there and still return there every now and then, even with what I've been applying from the various RP subs.

That said, I did find a post interesting and worth sharing. The basic concept is that a guy is in an 8 year dead bedroom before he finally has enough and cheats on his wife. Rather than her being put off by him, suddenly she's all hot for him and doesn't know what to do about it. Like ... duh?

Now, this is an obvious example of dread. I think RC also said something on r/RPChristians about preselection even applying to couples who have been together for a long time when one of them starts changing ... like other girls noticing the changes makes it more credible to the wife, causing her to question if she really sees her husband the way other girls do, or something like that.

Anyway, here's what intrigues me. In the post, the wife attributes her newfound desire for her husband as "hysterical bonding." She then acts as if hysterical bonding isn't an actual attraction; like it's a fake desire that she psychologically developed out of a panic to save her marriage and that it'll fade as soon as she feels stable and secure again (obviously, as we here all know). So then she seems to be ignoring the obvious and wondering if she should keep remaining sexless rather than acting on a fake desire ... ?!? This just seems dumb to me because if you want to have sex and he wants to have sex, just have sex ... why continue being celibate when you don't want to and you know that's going to keep making things worse?

Anyway, what do you all make of this notion of "hysterical bonding"? Is it a real thing of its own or is it just a psychological way to explain dread?

Here's the post. To be fair, I didn't read the whole thing on the forum where the lady was talking, I just skimmed a few.
