This question is to those that have been through the process.

My lawyer has suggested that I stop seeing others during the process. I understand the why, but I've made some decent gains in the department. It will feel like a double shot if I have to put the brakes on what I've created in terms of moving on to others. Those that have gone through it, did you remain "monk-like" during the process? I know the process will take at least a year. Should I "burry" myself until it's over?
