This might be a really stupid question but... Wife is a trust fund kid and her mom will frequently just send her money – couple thousand dollars every few months to pay off credit cards or to subsidize (her and kids) vacations, etc. For awhile I wasn’t even aware of this but even after finding out, given that we have talked divorce a number of times, I never really argued about it as figured the more money coming in the better.

But whenever the topic of money comes up and how I’d like to cut back my hours and be with the kids more (I work 70-100 hrs/week including most nights and weekends, she is SAHM) she will get in a jab about “we can ask my mom to help with it,” knowing full well that I don’t like her mom and resent the idea that I need help to support our family. I think its just shit-test and I’ve started A&A more, but it still gnaws at me. I feel like telling her no more money from her Mom and that we pay for our own expenses would seem incredibly foolish in hindsight if she bolts. But at the same time her mom paying for shit has to be a DLV for me. Much of this will be moot in a year or two as I’m efforting to get her back to work now that (almost all) the kids are fulltime in school, but I really have no idea if I’m effing up by letting this slide.
