Being able to vent and talk to dudes who aren't a bunch of fags can really help with perspective. It helps you get your emotions out and dump your bullshit onto a group (or individual(s) that doesn't have to sleep with you, because if you do this shit with the women in your life you will be celibate. They aren't your mommy and they aren't built to shoulder the burden that men have. This is what your friends are for.

But if the only way you can function is by leaning on others, you are not self actualized.

They, like everything else in this sub, are a tool to be used for a specific purpose.

Once you're competent, knowing the right people and being liked will more likely get you the promotion than mastery.

You need friends. Being friendly has a greater ROI than being competent.

I think it more so means that you cannot rely on anyone but yourself. The “path” being the road to your most successful happy self or the RP road. No one is out to help men walk this path. Woman are in it for themselves no matter how much they tell you otherwise. There is no support system out there to lift men up in a way all woman have access to one. There is camaraderie for men which can be nice but make no mistake, when it comes to your goals and your happiness the buck starts and ends with you. You are the only person in this world that you can rely on to get what you want out of this life. Realizing this and then fulfilling your own goals/needs for happiness will lead to friendship and interest from men and women but it will only be because they want what you have.

Competent male friends can usually see through the nonsense you feel regarding women. They can usually tell you exactly what you need to do in your life.

But you have to rip it out of them. A complaint women have about men that is accurate is that men are absurdly relationship-lazy. They're going to be doing their own thing and keeping shit to themselves most of the time. But if you can open up to them directly and make them know that you want their opinion and will take the advice, competent male friends will set you on the right path.
