as the title says, that is my diagnosis of the situation, and I am trying to design my strategy moving forward.

Little background: two young lovers both under 21 years old, work together in a shitty job. I pick up on ioi from her. We have dinner last night, i think the date goes well, we talk for 2 hours plus. It was a great evening.

uh oh. wake up this morning to a text message saying "Hey, you said some things last night I didn't appreciate, and I think it would be better if we remained friends."

Now: not super surprising, in context. I didn't have a fun enough date, I didn't ask her out soon enough. etc. I most likely made a few mistakes. That being said, I still find her interesting, not as attractive, but a great person. Thus the confusion of relationship.

I took the text in stride saying not to worry about it, wishing her the best of luck. but obviously the romantic relationship is dead, and I might just have onetisis to the girl and should look for relationships elsewhere.

So, i am assuming to stop giving attention outside of work, and to focus elsewhere, but am i missing anything?
