She's your plate, but you're also hers. You are having casual sex with her. And with other women. She's having casual sex with you. And with other guys.

I don't understand why guys get all uppity when their plate - a casual sex partner - doesn't act like a girlfriend.

Guys have this unrealistic expectation that they can have nonexclusive casual sex with a girl, and she's supposed to be so madly in love with him and so gosh darn attracted to him that she just chases and chases and begs for exclusivity and never looks at another man and just lets him string her along while fucking other women. They want plates who act like girlfriends and try to win them over.
