Suffer from a herniated back after multiple lower back injuries in the gym from deadlifts, squats and sitting in awkward positions which puts pressure on my sciatic nerve.

Recent injury was 2 weeks ago and was left bed ridden and had sciatic nerve pain in my left leg leaving me immobile. It's been 2 weeks, and it's getting better.

Haven't been gym during this time period but have instead gone for walks to keep myself active and do pull ups and dead hangs in my local park for my back workout and to decompress my spine (works well)

Will be starting gym soon again but want to avoid certain lower back affecting exericises. These are: Deadlifts Squats Heavy OHP Certain ab workouts

I was just wondering whether back hyper extensions are any good for lower back training and to strengthen my lower back? Would it detrimental to train using this workout?
