Don't ask her directly, if she says no you will lose your favorite cup of coffee. Ask sideways; tell her you are going to do x, invite her along. Something simple, low pressure. No movies or ball games, not even dinner. Like you want to grab a sandwich at the new place down the street for lunch, or check out some other new thing in the area.

If she is in to you she will accept, or immediately suggest an alternative. If she says no and doesn't offer to resched, then say "Cool, I'll let you know how it was tomorrow." Sorry dude, she's not in to you, no problem, move on. You haven't ruined the cafe for yourself, and you can still come by and flirt.

There's nothing beta about asking on how to not put someone you regularly see in an awkward situation.

I'm a strong proponent of don't shit where you eat, but I've found that "Call me ...maybe. 1231231234" written on a receipt leaves people a graceful way to decline if you see them on a regular basis and works like 80% of the time.

Oh, and napkins. Napkins work wonders too if you want to be more subtle.

Smile at her.

Does she smile back full heartedly? Does she smile back the same way to every cute guy so he orders more croissants?

It's really not that hard if you just hang back and observe interactions that don't involve you.

Why would asking her out be embarrassing? I assume she isn't 14, because of child labor laws. It's only embarrassing if you are a bitch about it if she rejects you. If you are a good sport and brush it off like it was nothing(which is should be) it will be okay.

Get her attention next time, give her a honest compliment and ask if she want's to meet up for anything else besides coffee after work.

Hired guns, bartenders waitresses strippers. They are paid to be nice. If you've ever dated one or hung after hours you know how they can talk so much shit about customers. Don't mistake her doing her job for liking you.

That being said here is what you do, if you are doing something fun and social later tell her about it if she asks how are you doing. "Doing great getting ready x event tonight, it's going to be great". If she shows any interest describe how awesome it's going to be. At the end you say 'you should come'. And shut up. What she says next will let you know. If she seems interested then you say text me if your coming. Give me your number so I know it's you. If she makes excuses leave it and don't push it. So easy a child ca. Do it. Good luck.

Don't embarrass her in front of customers and colleagues, that's low class. Get her somewhat alone for a minute. The easiest way is to invite her for a smoke if she smokes. If not, is there a coffee bar you can sit at one end of and when she's nearby and alone tell her to come over then ask quietly?

You need to build up non-casual rapport with her first. Run some Day Game on her ala 'Day Bang'. Find out what she likes to do for fun, where she likes to hang out etc.
