Know your limits and stay within them and you're fine. Nothing wrong with a few beers to loosen you up in my opinion

One change I've made is the way I drink. From highschool and on I was always the type that just drank to get destroyed as fast as possible with my friends. What I do now is just not chug them down like it's a contest. Walk around, babysit your beer, sip and talk with people if you are out. If you are spitting game, the less drinking you will be doing since your mouth is going to be moving. I just get enough in me to take the edge off and loosen up then I swap to water for a while.

I object to anything that robs you of clarity. It's twice as bad now around the college set of girls, since you could wind up with a rape charge and not remember what happened. That said, to ameliorate the effects of beer somewhat you can down a teaspoon of yeast before the beer. It doesn't totally mitigate, but it certainly helps.

Know your limits and abide by them.

I can have three drinks and retain composure. After four or more, I lose my ability to maintain frame. So I never have more than three drinks within three hours.

Nothing wrong with being a lightweight. It actually means you're healthy. Just respect your limits and live by them.

TRP, I feel, is a lot about finding yourself. You lose composure if you drink "a little too much" according to yourself - is that something you want? Sometimes you might; when just chilling with your buddies - but if you're out there gaming..

I don't really get wasted, but whenever I'm trying to socialize (with girls) and just really putting myself out there: I'll have a beer or twelve, but I always stay myself and don't let my frame collapse under the weight of half a crate of beer. When I suddenly find myself at the bottom of a vodka flask, I get the fuck out of whatever situation I've ended up in before I lose a resource a man should really keep close: honour.

If you don't want to lose your composure, and you find that you lose it whenever you drink - don't drink. Get half a glass of whiskey, a cigar and chill the fuck out and just be the fucking boss you want to be.

I drink beer mostly. A few shots if at the bar. I was blessed with a high tolerance and that makes me pretty resistant to the sorts of catastrophic situations alcohol can cause, and the loss of frame. Its great for helping me chill out and relax, and I've gained a lot of confidence on approaches thanks to the old shot of courage. Just know when to stop and there's nothing wrong with it.
