Long form cardio.

Yeah. Weights and HIIT is better for you physique. But I urge you to take on bicycling or jogging. Just something you can do for hours on end.

If you live in a majority city it's really fun to go out late at night on a bicycle and ride...Ride until your ass is dumb. 20, 30...50 miles. You move at a slower pace and see much more than you do in a car. You can listen to podcasts or audio books too. That's what I do.

It's almost like meditation. Shit, to me it is meditation. Especially after 20 miles and you just hit a groove and forget about everything. You come home on a big cardio high and then jump in a ice shower...go to sleep in a fasted state and wake up feeling light and ready to take on the day. It's a great habit to get into.

Went into hardcore monk mode. Lost 17kg, killing it at the gym, can see abs and muscle definition, scored a top job at global company, started side business that is generating profits.

Took me one 6 month stint and then another 3 month stint.

Tips I can give you:

It’s fucking hard, you need to understand at a deep level that all emotion is momentary. If you feel depressed and defeated, know that you will not feel this day in a month or a week or even tomorrow. Emotions do not last whether happy or sad.

I use the affirmation, “There is nothing wrong right now.”

As needed.

Create a weekly scheduler either to plan your week or document how you are spending your time. At the end of each week, calculate hours spent in the gym, on productive activities, on leisure, on commitments.

Reflect and improve for the week after. Efficiency is key. If you’re going to do monk mode, don’t do it half assed or it will be draining as fuck.

I started doing video journals each week to capture my mindset, my physique, and reflect on progress as well. I like journaling as a form of reflection - do what works for you.

Make sure you prioritise based on attraction.

If you’re fat and also want to start a business. Place more time on using your energy to lean out and your secondary energy on your business goals.

Don’t use monk mode to be a book worm/read trp shit. Make sure that what you’re doing is going to get you the most results see on your goals. No use reading about a business when you can buy a website, start producing content, and learn as you produce.

It’s easy to use learning as an excuse in face of uncertainty.

Set a clear date as to when you’re coming out of monk mode. This way it doesn’t drag on and you know that your time is limited.

Also, develop systems that work to get the most results. I am going to diet is not a system. I’m going to see a nutritionist once a week to track my weight gain/loss and tweak my diet is a system. Generally, good systems don’t rely on how you feel on the day they rely on shame, vanity, pleasure, or some other kind of compelling motivator. Use this to your advantage.

I would recommend Meditation - I took a few months of break after burning out at a job, I started meditation in the break it's been around 3 months I don't know exactly how it helps but it made some things easier to accept for me. Also I think I was traumatized due to my mother's death 2 years ago and I'm healed is what I would like to believe now. Could you please let me know what is Monk Mode and elaborate how and what exactly you hope to achieve?

What’s your plan? What do you hope to achieve? Why will monk mode help? Saying you’re doing monk mode or actually having a plan with goals are two majorly different things. One is a waste of time.
