New years eve party.

Talk to a girl for 5 minutes on the dancefloor. See her later with 2 (girl)friends of her in hall 1. I sit next to the girl, with the two other girls sitting next to her. The three girls talk to me, asking me a lot of questions. I'm messing with them, letting them guess stuff blablabla. I get plenty of IOI's from the girl I'm interested in, and she's the one I'm talking to most of the time. So far so good.

At one point I get thirsty, and invite my target to go get some drinks (back on the dancefloor, where the bar is). She follows, the friends stay. After waiting for our drinks at the bar, the two other girls join us. We start to dance. I get closer to her, slightly grinding, it's fun. After a while, I say to my target "hey, let's go get some fresh air". Me and her leave the dancefloor. As I'm leading her outside, she's starting to become hesitant. Hall 1 is warm, has sofa's and chairs but is really crowded. Hall 2 is less crowded, slightly colder and people sit on the floor. Since my first intention was to go outside, and I see her hesitate, I'm compromising and stopping in hall 2 (I do not want to seem like the hesitative guy and turn back to hall 1 at this point) As we sit down, she says "this was a bad idea". Ok, first real IOD, this shouldn't be a big deal right? As long as we keep the vibe going, she won't mind sitting here after a while, right?

So we talk some more, she's starting to smile and laugh again. I look into her eyes, touch her legs a bit. I'm not sure how to escalate from this point however! She's been following me around since the last (half) hour, and from experience girls seem to be turned off if I wait too long to make a move. Furthest kino I did up to this point was my hand on her thigh. I say fuckit, put my right hand in her neck and I go in for the kiss. She gives me her cheek. Awkward. I try to brush it off as if nothing serious happened. After a couple of minutes she says "yea we should go back to the dancefloor". I realise it's over, and I say I have to talk to some friends of mine real quick. I never see her again.

Maybe relevant: A bit later, a friend (girl) that knows my target tells me my target has a bf "but sometimes seem to forget she has one on times like these."

Very similar situations happened in the past. I'm not good very bad at closing. Where did I go wrong?
