Don't pay the $500, do the trial and make sure you are able to commit to the first month. It had worked for me and I improved my life, but I stopped using it after 3 months which means I only spent $25 or so.

I tried headspace, it's good but definitely not worth any subscription fee. The guided meditation audio is literally the same shit with different wording every day. You can probably find torrents of the audio.

Besides, basic meditation isn't rocket science.

I think money is better spent on the book, The Mind Illuminated (TMI).

Headspace is an okay introduction for those who have no idea wtf to do or what to expect with meditation. But with some moderate experience in meditation, I found it more distracting than helpful.
