Preface to this post; Nothing to do with women or game.

So last week I needed some landscaping done. I started on it myself but my work schedule kept getting in the way, so it got to the point I’d much rather hire someone than it take months to do.

My mom found a landscaper on Facebook marketplace and sent me his contact information, and he came out to look at what needed to be done and get an estimate. The estimate started at $650 total for everything.

Also to note I’m 22, and the landscaper was 21, and during his first visit he kept complaining about baby mom issues and other things.

I agreed to his estimate though.

The next morning while I’m busy at work the guy calls me and says he’s at Home Depot getting the supplies, and is asking for a card. He wants me to pay for the materials, which we hadn’t agreed on. So now my total was upwards of $900 for everything. I wasn’t really thinking and didn’t have time to argue, so I agreed and gave him my card number.

Later that day when I get home, he has almost finished the work, but says the cost will be more due to other stuff.

So now he’s raised the price on me twice, for a simple 5 hour job. I should have said something, but here’s where my fault comes in;

I hate conflict. I hate being involved in it, especially with people I don’t know. I always cave to others wishes, no matter how much it can hurt me.

Long story short, the $650 job ended up costing me $1,200, and he hasn’t even finished the job. I keep asking when he’s going to return to finish, but he keeps brushing me off.

How can I learn to stand up for myself, and stand my ground against other people?
