If anything, seeing you talk to a less attractive woman, but seeing you having a good time can make a woman even more jealous. Because if you're talking to a less pretty woman, she's worried there must be emotional things going on. Nothing makes a woman feel like a failure more than seeing a man she wants -- a man who fucks her -- giving away the emotional intimacy she's trying to extract from him to another woman. A lesser woman. It makes her wonder if she's really as hot as she thinks she is.

Obviously within reason. Your 9.6 seeing you talking to a 3.2 fatass is going to laugh at how stupid you are. But your 9.6 seeing you talk to a 7.5 and having a great time might get worried.

Women require a third party to validate their decisions. I believe it's because women have a perfect emotional memory. They know their past choices often led to negative consequences, so they rely on what others do to validate their decisions.

It depends. If the girlfriend sees you chatting up a girl with curly hair, and she is envious of girls with curly hair because her boyfriend in 7th grade left her for another girl with curly hair, she will be super jealous.

Since you cant predict all of the crazy scenarios and each girl will have her own dread triggers, it is a lot easier to just advise men to constantly be on their game.

Yeah, I think so. She may think that she is hotter than the other girl but she knows that what you think is more important.

Jealousy only arises when the other person is perceived as a threat.

This can steam from social class, looks, money, fun, etc.

Strictly speaking, a 5 could make your 7 jealous, yes.

This will strengthen your relationship. If you've built up a bunch of trust, when she sees girls tingle around you, she will also tingle. Tiny bit of fear but mostly good vibes.

If you're in a rocky patch the dread might get her to work on her end a little harder. Lots of fear

So, I'll break it down for you -- speaking as a female/woman.

If it's obvious, I will see right through it... and I will. It will also knock you several points down in my books.
If it's unintentional, there will be unintentional jealousy. For example, do we maybe have lackluster conversations, but you're having a blast and talking your ear off to this less attractive woman? Yeah, there will be a tinge of jealousy providing I have feelings for you. Contrary to what /u/Archwinger says, it's not because I'm "questioning how hot I really am", but it's more simple than that: this guy is responding to another woman in a way I want this guy to respond to me. It would make me feel like less of a person in general, and make me feel like I've failed to entertain him.

But again, women are all different. I'm not a person who is swayed by jealousy, and I usually respond in a disgusted way by attempts to make me jealous. It is childish and petty. If I want a guy, I want him. He doesn't need to play games to "get" me. Any games he does play and I assume that he is either dumber than I am, or he thinks he is smarter than me and immediately turns me off. If I don't want a guy, I probably won't even notice the silly little games anyway.

Beyond that: if a partner were to try dread games, I break it down like this: is she hotter/better than me? Well, I can't compete. Good job, him. Obviously she was better than me. Is she "beneath" me? Well, he's an idiot and I'm turned off by him.
