It matters, how much so is up to you.

When people become/are blind or deaf, their other senses become enhanced. If you are not tall, you need to lift your game in the areas of aesthetics you can control, e.g. hair, complexion, clothing, build.

The wiki talks about preferences and theories, none of which telling me why a man should be taller. Indeed, it states that there is no biological preference either way.

I don't disagree that for initial attraction being taller is an advantage. Go to any night club and see how much easier tall guys find a girl to take home. However, it is being presented here as if a guy is required to be taller in order to have any chance at all and judging from personal experience this is simply not true.

So please, tell me why a guy has to be taller according to you.

EDIT: Obviously my question related to /u/karmasutur3 statement that a man has to be taller than a woman, not to the initial question whether being taller is an advantage.

Not really, obviously there is a choice between the consoles whereas you are given a height and just make the best of it. My point is that people come here looking for information and there is no need to misinform them.

Yes, being tall is an advantage, but it's not the be all end all in dating.

hugely. immensely. indescribably.

It's not like you're at all screwed if you don't have it, but if you do, man, is it handy as hell!

I'm 6' 2", 6' 5" in boots, 6' 7-8" in my Stetson. Frankly, I'm straight up goofy, Jim Carey kind of gangley. Still, I'm positive I pull a lot of chicks I simply wouldn't be able to were I a few inches shorter.

A taller man will always have a better shot than you with a chick. Same goes for a better looking guy and a wealthy guy.

But that doesn't mean you don't have a shot. EVERY guy has a shot if he does everything he can to put himself in the right position. And for you that's getting fit, developing useful skills via hobbies and building your confidence. I've been with a couple girls taller than me. You can too.

As other posters have stated, it's an advantage just like good looks or wealth.

I have a good friend who is 5'6, and he is one of the most naturally red pill guys I know. His girlfriend is several inches taller than him, but she absolutely fawns over him because he has excellent frame control.

Sure, I'm 6'3, but he happens to be more ripped (pssh manlets) and attractive than I am. It balances out in the end.

It matters. But it's far from a be-all-end-all. Being short may make some girls reject you from the get go, but a 5'6 guy can still pull in the 8-10 range just like someone who's 6'0.

Focus on bolstering your SMV in other areas (fitness, being charismatic, Having a good career, interacting with a wide social circle, etc) and you will do better than the 90% of men who wait for their unicorn to come instead of taking a proactive approach to dating and relationships.
