Coming from a PUA background and now red pill, I kind of have it engrained in me to hit the gym, follow my purpose, spin multiple plates, have my fashion down, etc. I've def put in a lot of work and have been with hotter women as the years go by but now I'm questioning whether I needed to put that much work in.

I recently I noticed that in my last few 9-5 recruiting jobs (where it was 90% women in their 20's), that most of the 8's and 9's were in long term committed relationships with guys who have low SMV's. These are hot, 21-26 yr old young professionals going out with overweight Jimmy john's drivers or baristas. Some of them live with their bfs and do "boring" things (stuff I wouldn't do with my plates) like running errands or just sitting at home eating pizza in sweatpants. You would think these girls would lose attraction, but they talk super fondly of their boyfriends and have them saved as their wallpaper and get excited when they get to see them.

Does the red pill/pick up artist community overemphasize SMV since there seems to be TONS of "average joe " guys you see everyday (who obviously aren't in this community) dating 8s and 9s in happy long long term relationships?
