This is something I was going to touch up on for my Tinder Guide follow up. I posted a massive guide to Tinder on the main sub a couple weeks ago, but this was a major point I didn't include and will be including in my follow up.

Here is the deal, from my experience. Yes, its true that men in their 30s are in their SMV prime. And its true that women don't mind dating up in age. However for a lot of them there is still a stigma about dating up in age too much. When they meet older guys in person, and are attracted, they don't know the guy's age, nor do they care. Plausible Deniability. "OMG I just fucked a 35 year old? I didn't know he was 35!" but there is no regret. He was hot.

However, on Tinder, the age number is right next to your name. There is no plausible deniability - she knows right off the bat. Therefore women are going to be a lot more defensive/picky about older guys, because the age is not a mystery. They will automatically assume older guys are creepy, even if he is a Chad/really hot, and be a lot less likely to give him the time of day. I'm 30, and when I turned 30 it was like a switch went off. I used to have no problem getting girls 23 or younger to respond to me, my response rates have been cut drastically since I turned 30. I have no problems at all matching with girls 23 or younger, its getting them to respond which is the challenge.

In other words, using Tinder at age 30+ and trying to game women 23 or younger is hard mode. If you want women that age, social circles/day game/night game is the way to go, where your age is a mystery and plausible deniability is in play. Most women have no problem dating up in age, as long as they learn of his age after the fact they have already decided to be attracted to him.

Girls lie about their age all the time lol. And like leafclover said.. it's Tinder. Just put 27 or something and use the app for hooking up, not for serious stuff

Relationship is secondary if not tertiary in the beginning stages of any association with a female, especially on tinder. Don't ever go into an interaction with a female thinking "relationship". I can't stress this enough, THEY ask for the relationship, not you.

Ed: you may mean "relationship" in a more general sense but still, I try to spread the idea above as often as possible because I see it forgotten so often.

I put 30 on mine that way they know ive already crossed the 30 threshold. I could pass for 29 (32, no wrinkles) but at least they know what they're getting into and I prefer a girl who has mentally graduated high school anyway.

Easy solution, put your actual age somewhere in your bio but have your age on tinder to 29. That way you aren't lying, and have the deniability of "oh, thats just what I have my age on facebook because I don't want my actual age shown for privacy ect"

Dating on an app as a 30 year old is not a good look. You can try lying about it, the problem is that you're going to have to keep an air tight wrap on your personal life. If she finds your social, if you're around a friend with loose lips, or anything that hints at your personal life, they are going to know something is up.

Thats because there is an age filter. Some women might even not change the initial settings (few years from their own age). If you feel like having more success with a lower age, just do it - who cares?
