Instead of busting heads with them, try to be their friends. Everyone else already respects them so if you go around disrespecting them to be the top dog everyone will see right through it and know exactly what you're trying to do. You'll just make enemies, not garner authority. Get on their level, not try to destroy it.

Look everyone in the eye and express yourself genuinely and freely. Don't pick up fake personalities like others are suggesting.

Omg the advice on this thread is terrible. Not that I have stellar advice myself, but I know bullshit when I smell it.

Never try to out-alpha an alpha. Just go your own way and work on improving yourself. When they feel you're qualified to be in their group, they'll let you know.

They have flaws as well, as everybody else. They might have more power than you, perhaps.

A strategy could be: find his flaws and make him understand you have found them and (crucial) make him understand you are not using his flaws against him. He will respect you.

Respect means: he sees you have power on him that you can decide to use but you don't use.

How to find his flaws is your duty.

As it is all the so called wanna-be-alpha men duty to do things they believe the best to "become" alpha, acknowledging that there are people who are born like that.

It is a tough world out there.

It's called an AMOG buster, the PUA community is full of AMOG busting tactics. For example, one of the old school lines was to walk up to the dude and sarcastically say "hey dude, nice shirt. I used to have one just like it in high school. I bet you get all the chicks with that shirt, huh?" Basically, like /u/enriquex said, make them seem like they're trying too hard.

Or go over the top in being nice and supplicating to them to the point of absurdity. Sort of like an agree and amplify.

Seriously though, just search youtube for "pua amog" or whatever. Once you figure out the mentality for dealing with these people, and you see it work for yourself, it'll start to come naturally and you'll feel more an more comfortable about it.
