So how do you prevent that?

You can't prevent someone hotter from popping up. You can:

Pick a chick that doesn't show sexual openness to attract hotter guys while she's committed. If a hotter guy comes and works his way through her barriers, you're done. You'll always be done it it happens, so she's better having some good barriers to keep away guys that have options. Creepers will ALWAYS insist.;
Act in ways that help preventing intimacy from murdering attraction. Otherwise she'll crave being turned on and it'll be easy to pass her barriers;
Avoid letting yourself take her for granted and let yourself go. Or a creeper will look good in comparison;

More important than understanding that she is not yours is understanding that you're not hers and she's not your only fit. Have abundance, so you don't end up investing a lot more than a relationship is worth it.

You don't "keep" a girl. She's person and she's not anyone's. You can't prevent a woman for leaving you for someone better. All you can do is be the best you you can be. If that works for her, she'll stay and be faithful. If it doesn't work for her, she'll hopefully leave and you'll be free to find someone else in an infinite sea of women.

This is just a phrase to keep in mind to not over invest in a woman so you’ll end up a complete wreck without her if or when she leaves you for someone else. It’s to create mental fortitude in respects to remaining an individual in a relationship rather than molding into a single entity like a lot of couples do and making your relationship your primary focus in life.

That’s how I’ve always looked at it. Not every girl is going to break up with you. And you’re right in that if you’re doing all the things that you should be already without doing it for her, you shouldn’t have a problem with her leaving. But the door is always open and it’s always a possibility.

You clearly don't get it.

You don't prevent it. You enjoy what you can get and when she wants to leave, you let her. The more valuable you are, the less likely she'll leave. But even then it's not a guarantee.

Women are emotional creatures and driven by impulse and not logical thoughts. If the circumstances and the situation is right and she feels it, you can’t do shit no matter how good looking and alpha you are.

That’s why you enjoy the moment with her and see her as a luxury good. You don’t need her in order to live but it’s a nice thing to have.
