The relationship with my ex started 5 years ago, in eastern europe. I was her first boyfriend (at least her first sexual partner), had a quite high status and had a maybe excessive abundance mentality to the point where I was flirting with other girls and not appreciating her enough. I also was overly criticizing her for her mistakes. She was very sensitive and would get really mad/emotional easily whenever I would make her gealous, but also because of very minor mistakes of mine. Her excessive yelling on tiny things made me break up with her 2 times, while a third one was caused by me cheating on her and getting back with an ex of mine.

After 3 years of relationship and a couple months of long distance, we end up working in a big western city, but she is getting more and more angry on me for the smallest of things. I found it impossible to keep up with her demands. We break up, get back together again etc.

Last break up I end up regretting not doing things her way and try to come back together with her. She rejects me, but keeps leading me on . Fast forward 5 months of being lead on, we end up quarantined in different countries and she tells me she wants to give me a chance to win her back for one month of some sort of relationship probation period, so that she can figure out if I have changed or not. What scares me is that:

  • She rarely acknowledges any guilt on her behaviour which led to our break up
  • she never forgot that I cheated on her or how I treated her in the beginning of our relationship and keeps reminding me whenever she finds an opportunity
  • she told me of all her dates while we were broken up, including a guy she had a crush on
  • she used this time to better herself a lot, which is a good things, but her attitude is implying that I was the one who stunted her personal growth all this time
  • she told me during three phone conversations in a row that she needs to have male friends for personal growth, angry that my gealousy stopped her from having ones in the past, although I never really denied her this right
  • she probably fucked her flatmate(s) this entire time
  • last relationship I sensed a serious lack of attraction on her behalf and she was constantly belittling me, by telling me I'm not a real man
  • she told me I need to engage to her quickly this time, as I should've done during the 5 years of our relationship
  • my mental health is not that good at the moment

Is there any chance for this one month probation period to flourish into a working relationship? I know for sure she loved me a lot during most of our relationship and she always wanted to end up engaged to me. She also used this time to better herself a lot and she has really become what I was always looking in terms of personal/professional growth. Even though she was not what I was looking for in the beginning, she is starting to become just that.
