Gym receptionist, she noticed I had left something behind and asked me about when she saw me the next day, I got her name and thanked her, and pretty much rarely saw her since then, but was always cordial.

Suddenly, she's gone completely cold on me. Still cordial, but completely avoids eye contact and is always brisk. I figured she was feeling rejected so I tried to start up a conversation with her but she blew it off (and her coworker took up the opportunity instead).

Is this just another lesson in moving fast when opportunity presents itself, or is there a chance to salvage this?
