I think we all can agree that there's a difference between the ideologies of modern day academia and TRP. The problem is that people in the academia tend to be experts in their respective fields, professors of psychology, sociology and various other disciplines harbor theories that run widely counter to TRP.

Reading psychological literature I can't help but notice that TRP-style ideas are presented as product of misguided thought, cognitve biases or outright delusions. Meritocratic, self-improving and domineering styles are based on 'justifying myths' and delusions of control, just-world phenomena, positive illusions and so on.

These are all claimed to be based on solid research and science, which makes me wonder is endorsing TRP 'willful ignorance' or 'anti-science' in this context. Would I rather believe experts in the field of human psychology or bunch of internet nobodies who claim to know better?

This has been bothering me for awhile and I'd like to know what exactly is going on. Thanks for any advice.
